Air Asia has been burning money for years, it doesn't appear to have any relation to the finances of QPR. As for Uncle Tony, I'd guess he'd be glad to be rid of the company and the mountain of debt associated with it? Sure it will be an embarrassment for him but PLC set-up will protect his personal wealth. Beyond all that, I suspect every single Airline is creaking financially - there might be some sort of world bank bail-out to preserve the aviation industry as a whole?

Depends what proportion of his wealth is tied up in Air Asia shares. I have no idea what sort of holding he has.
20 years ago, a dream took flight - shaping and forever changing the travel industry in Asia. The idea was simple - make flying affordable for everyone. Now, that dream has sparked half a billion more dreams and will continue to do so through new experiences from Asean fast food and food deliveries to a network of gateways and getaways.
The 2 "Tune" companies own 32.18% of Air Asia by the look of it. So its depends on how much Tony and Meranum own in those companies, and also how broad a base of investments the 2 "Tune" companies have, to dilute the importance of Air Asia.
Very often the shares in these companies are 'awarded' to executives rather than bought. So rather than lose money they will lose future income through loss of dividends. Even loss making companies borrow money to pay dividends to make them look safer to investors. A lot will depend how much Tune have taken out as Special Dividends and Bonuses.
