All football below National League to end
All football in England below National League level will end immediately and results will be voided with no promotion or relegation.
Shocking that !!
27 wins in a row for nothing
Some men's teams, such as Jersey Bulls and Vauxhall Motors, had already secured promotion to step five of the non-league pyramid, but their promotions will now be cancelled.
Jersey Bulls had won all 27 of their matches in the Combined Counties Football League Division One and were 20 points clear at the top.

All the EPL, EFL and FA are worried about is the TV contracts and money. It's all well and good saying extend this, curtail that and cancel the other but anything that dents TV revenue will scare them too death. The TV companies have already massively overpaid and will be smarting at the loss of "product"...... They will NOT be altruistically supporting whatever needs to be done; they will use the opportunity and fresh circumstances to drive down the costs and pay less money. They won't just agree to rolling over or extending the current deal that ends in June and accepting some sort of truncated or varied approach for next season.
Basically, the TV companies will be in the driving seat in terms of what happens next and they do not have the match-going fans' interests in mind.

Play all games in empty stadia and televise every game to L2 with season ticket holders getting free access and pay per view so clubs still get revenue.
Its already being discussed that players will go into quarantine so they can play the games safely. Mentioned June, but May is achievable with first two weeks of April for lockdown and the last two weeks for a mini preseason then play all remaining games in four weeks.
It just means players will be away from their families for two months. But with technology they can keep in touch and a sacrifice they can stomach for their pay.

Utterly incompatible with a nation being advised to stay at home and avoid all unnecessary travel and contact. Why do you consider football as having priority over Ant and Dec or Coronation Street or IKEA? Players, coaches, officials, medics, broadcasting crews and sundry stadium staff/security. I'd guess that each "closed game" would require at least 200 people present and in close proximity. There'd definitely be issues outside and around stadia too with a significant number of buffoons trying to congregate to support their team - last thing police need at this time is to be patrolling an exclusion zone around a football match.
Ultimately, it'll look very tawdry if football is stupid enough to consider playing matches whilst police are potentially arresting people for having a kick about in a park. There can't be football whilst the nation is being instructed to stay at home - that's the bottom line.
