IN light of the growing challenges posed by the spreading of COVID-19 (coronavirus) QPR have put measures in place to protect the health of its employees, supporters and the general public.
We will be reminding everyone attending any fixtures – home or away – of optimum hygiene practices.
Information posters reinforcing the official medical advice for everyone to take personal responsibility for excellent personal hygiene will be displayed around Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
COVID-19 can be spread via droplets from the nose and mouth and can be transmitted on to the hands and passed on via a handshake.
QPR players will therefore not be shaking hands, signing autographs or stopping for photographs on arrival or departure from fixtures, home or away.
While regular attendance by players in the Fanzone at PlayFootball is an important part of our community engagement on home matchdays, this will not take place until further notice. The Fanzone will continue, however.....
Mascots for the games will continue with the players encouraged to walk out on to the pitch with their hands on the mascots’ shoulders rather than holding their hands.
The English Football League has determined that the Fair Play handshake will not take place between players and match officials until further notice.
We trust that supporters will understand the circumstances leading to this decision.
Any supporter displaying symptoms consistent with the virus or feeling unwell should familiarise themselves with the Chief Medical Officer’s advice on self-isolation. For further details click here.
Typical symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath and muscle aches. Generally, more severe symptoms can occur in people with weakened immune systems, older people and those with long-term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.’
We will continue to take the best advice from the relevant authorities and will update supporters with any further developments.
