  • Just Back from Selhurst Park

A friend had a spare ticket, and all it did was make me more depressed. Palace have half the quality we have, if that. there only centre forward is a slow and rather useless Alan Lee. The spine of their team is quite good (Davis, Derry, Ambrose) but even they can be heavily criticised as slow and past it.

However the levels of commitment from those players was immense from the first whistle to the last. Their WINGERS were putting sliding tackles in and challenging the likes of Dunne and Collins for the ball. They showed true professionalism and desire and despite the disappointment of the draw against a top Premier League side their players showed courtesy and appreciation to their fans after the final whistle.

If QPR players watched that performance they should be ashamed because their players aren't even likely to be payed yet they show more commitment and more aggression that our toothless and pathetic squad.

Also, from the reactions of Warnock and his response to his players and fans I very much doubt he'll be leaving. I think we are dreaming here and although he is in my opinion the best manager below the Premier league the possibility of QPR making the right decision immediately rules him out.

If we had to pay 2 million in compensation it would be worth it because otherwise that 2 mil would be wasted on undeserved player contracts and towards bringing in more talented but uncommitted players.

Loans should be to cover for injured players, not be used to build a team like we do.

not that I'm in the know atall but I wouldn't read too much into how warnock (and his players) were today. He's a passionate football manager and would react like that whatever the circumstances.

my villa mate had a spare ticket and i went today...have to agree with u...while there wasnt a huge amount of quality on show (apart from the ambrose freekick and that danns bloke) u cud see that the players were puttin everythin they had into the performance and the effort was really appreciated by the fans...they were playin for the shirt and unlike us they are a club thats pullin together in the face of administration and a relegation fight. just seemed to me that warnock's passion gets into every bit of palarse!

                True.
As the Villa fans were (very loudly) singing today:
"Sing when you're bankrupt, you only sing when you're bankrupt...."

Their fans were booing the granny out of Warnock and his wonderful team when they lost 4-0 at home to Scunthorpe, and 3-0 at home to Doncaster - and that was only in december.
