Seeing an account on twitter doing the rounds of someone who is saying they’re a footballer in the championship and will come out soon. Not entirely convinced it’s a real account, but interested to see what you think the reception would be, say if he was to play at loftus road. JN

The world is more accepting but there is a long way to go, every time there is a gay campaign etc on Facebook from
the match of the day page etc there is A LOt of hate
There is still a lot of hate going round and you need thick skin to be gay, I know a lot of gay people and most of my friends who are gay have depression and anxiety. A close friend of mine posts on this forum and won’t tell people he is gay because of the tag and labelling he might get on here
I wish this footballer nothing but happiness and support from everyone, no more so from The FA who need to be firm with chants & abuse on social media & match days. Also the players club, players and fans
I think this is huge and I respect the footballer so muchUnder Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes

There’s got to be loads of footballers who are gay by law of average. Because of social media it’s really hard for them to come out and not receive a tonne of abuse. Football twitter can be a savage place. Would take a brave man to come out while still playing professionally and whoever it is deserves a lot of respect.

Looking at the gay footballers twitter, he follows a lot of QPR players and ex QPR players.
It also makes you wonder if QPR Rainbow Rangers was formed because of this gentlemen
I would be extremely proud if this was one of our playersUnder Les Ferdinand:
