Start Smith against teams he is suited too. No point otherwise as people will be moaning about him being immobile and us going long ball all the time.
Farking right Willo !! horses for courses , Pompey are are team tailored to get out ofof league one try it against the top half of the championship and it will cost , still a good plan B in some games
We do get a bit carried away sometimes........Smith scored a good goal and got in a few defensive headers but he didn't win much in open play over the ninety minutes.
For me id deffo start the pair at home & always two strikers, would never go with 1 striker at home anyway, youve got the nippyness and proper striker instincts of wells who knows how to feed off a target man, the stick matt smith gets isridiculas, the stick should be just aimed at the lynchs of the team who just boom it to him all the time, every now n thens good to mix our game up & not become obvious like we have over the last games since xmas.
Have to take it game by game. Some sides might have players that Smith can really bully and win everything in the air while others will be harder to breakdown so Eze might suit. Just about doing our homework on the opponent.

Maybe and I do get that point but form must come into play surely ? If Smith is scoring and forming a partnership with Wells then the opposition type shouldn't matter as much for a starting XI ?
Change only if need to. I'd see what Smith and Wells can do together at the expense of an out of form / needs a ret Eze.
Gotta be the way to go on Saturday against Brum right?
Eze needs to stay benched for now imo.
Agreed mate.
Good combo of big man little man.
Some people would think playing Smith means lumping balls into the box all night but anyone who was there last night could see that wasn't the case.
Yes there was occasions we put a hopeful ball in knowing Smiths strengths in the air but on the most part we went down the flanks and played the ball inside. It was a really good mix.
