It never works having a player return, Adel had his day. Great player in 2010-2011 but went rapidly down hill since. He would know the bus to take home though
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

That Bus home from the Fools was an absolute classic.
Didn't Warnock get the best out of Adel by letting him do whatever he wanted and by telling everyone else to get the ball to him whenever they can ?
Can't see that happening in a million years with Steve or any of the team.
He actually told everyone else only to pass to him when we'd crossed the half way line. He didn't trust him not to lose it in our own half.
Warnock did speak to all the senior players and explained to them why Adel was captain. I believe the conversation went a bit like "I have an idea how we can get promoted this season. Pander to Adel's ego and get him playing. You guys are the real captains, but Adel needs to wear the armband" etc.
Quite clever really. No way that squad would have ever have got promoted without Adel's goals that year. The club is in a different place now though. Building for the future, and less short term thinking. Resigning Adel at close to 30 years old ain't the answer!
