Sir Les found Chris Ramsey and McClaren that’s enough for me. We all make mistakes in our past. This is now. He got it right.

Steve McClaren: former England manager, former high profile Premier League manager with decent success and one of a handful of English managers to win an overseas title in the last 50 years and Les 'found him'...

Remember what I said about the wool being being pulled over people's eyes.

Les had no say or involvement in the recruitment of McClaren and has no say in the way the latter works. Les is a glorified Admin Assistant who used to have a bit more power but proved incapable of using it so it was removed.

White Hart Lane 1984. Lost 5-0.

In Allen's defence he had been getting stick from a section of our support that day and he reacted, some might say, accordingly.

As for being 'one of us' or not. Few players play for the club they support and it is just a job. Similarly, there are few QPR fans who would turn down a chance to do their job or take a promotion at Chelsea - if their role existed there - if they were offering a 25% pay increase. Only two types of person would say they wouldn't : liars and people who take 22 men kicking a ball far too seriously.

Well you can't have it both ways Old. You say he does nothing others say he is responsible for the players and managers brought in.
If you are correct then ok, but I do think he provides as others have said a good reason to keep him.
Stability. He is a constant, and has overseen the rebuilding of the youth squads which inevitably will turn into
                      an income stream.
There is a strategy the club has implemented under Les, which is that youth strategy, any new manager will be
aware money cannot be spent as it was 6/7 years ago.
Also he is worth his place as an ambassador, figure head. Ex England & QPR, high profile. One of our own he came good.
It will turn heads of good youngsters, as will the pathway to 1st 11 created again

Just to clarify your position Les has involvement in any managers that go wrong but no say in the ones that go right??

I will make my position clear I don’t think he has any say in managers at all good or bad. He might suggest names but it’s the owners who pick, choose and hire.

I don't associate Allen with Rangers, always get the feeling we weren't good enough for him.

There is a strategy the club has implemented under Les, which is that youth strategy, any new manager will be
aware money cannot be spent as it was 6/7 years ago.

He isn't running a dictatorship with regards to the youth team. He will liaise with the youth team coaches and scouts and relay that information back to the board. He makes no decisions about who to sign, who to buy or who to retain.

My problem is with the grandiose job title which confuses some fans and pulls the wool over the eyes of others. He is, as I have said, a glorified Admin Assistant, who acts as a intermediary between different sections of the club. Is he good at doing that? Absolutely, but he's doing nothing that previous employees of the club haven't done or anything different from what employees of most other clubs are doing without the grand title or salary he has. It's a pointless title created to placate the support.

He is, as you say, a great figurehead for the club and one we should utilise but surely we don't need to create smoke and mirrors to have him involved in some capacity? Make him lifetime Chairman or some ######## like that.
