Don't think that's what they meant westy think they were highlighting what a difficult position it is for small clubs gaining promotion in today's game your either lucky enough to manage a couple or so years or you have to spend untold .
it'll be interesting to see how Fulham manage they had a decent side last year and I heard they have spent 100mil and they ain't pulling up any roots are they

I am not sure which 2 he wanted to keep, but certainly true that a number of them fell short of being good enough. However, he was talking Bull as usual because he signed more than 2 players.

Fer, Caulker, Mutch and the 2 Chileans on loan. Not forgeting the player he insisted on bringing in on a big wage, Ferdinand

Would he have wanted to keep Hoilett, Dunne, Krancjar, Zamora, Onouha, Green, Hill had he been given a bigger budget?

Hoddle made some sense with what he said about it being what those above i.e the Board were doing and especially in the January window..

He had plenty to spend but he wasted most of it on #### like caulker ,fer , mutch and Sandro to name but a few .How about actually coaching and improving players rather than bankrupting every club he goes to .

As I said, he was talking bull as usual.

However, having wasted so much on those earlier signings, was it really wise of the Board to
              a) not sack him in Nov/Dec and appoint someone else, or
              b) back him again in the Jan window to sign Defoe and one or two others who might have been able to make a vital difference in keeping the club up?

Instead, they let the club fall out of the Premiership, missing out on the new Sky deal and facing up to the Football league's FFP fine.

Mourinho is exactly the same type of manager in respect of finance. They both can hardly ever get the best out of the players and talent that is at the club and even when they do spend untold millions they ditch those players and want more.
