They too were/are Proven goal scorers....in a crap league. And Beckford is older than them. (Except DJ I think)


Plus the amount beckford would go for makes him an overpriced expensive purchase. And very likely waste of money.

Depends on who the manager is and what their tactics and strategies are. If they want a big lump, or a pacy striker, or a skillful one or someone to hold the ball up to get the midfielders up there or if they just want to blow a massive wad on some sort of international superstar. Just getting players that have a decent record for a club does not automatically mean they will be superb at a different club in a different league, because the style of play the club and manager has will likely be different to the players previous club. Hence when a player has a good international tournament and then some team buys him for silly money, only to find he isn;t that great its because they are playing a totally different style of football. This is why personally I think directors of football only work if they are on the exact same wavelength as the manager...which paladini clearly was not with Sousa (sorry to hijack the thread there, but i still find it suspicious he called sousa a c*** (allegedly))

Wouldn't want either anywhere near the club personally....

Beckford is older and has scored less than Billy Sharp whose flopped at this level like so many before him....

Personally would love Ishmael Miller alongside a big lump striker such as Adebola, the sort of partnership that's worked so well for Wolves this year

Beckford is a gamble, he did nothing at this level in his previous stint, and although he has done well in L1, plenty of other strikers have done well there too and not made it....

At Leeds' roughly £4m asking price its a big big punt.....

matty fryat hasnt really been mentioned b4 i think he would b brilliant and i know beckford didnt prove it last time at this level but if he gets right service and sure he has got better he would do a great job 4 us.

Dont want Fryatt, i know he has scored about 32 goals this season but the other year when he was at this level he did nothing. This season he seems to simply knock in anything big lump Howard flicks on

Not a hope in hells chance we will sign Beckford,yes it would be good if we did but anyone who believes that Flavio will spend over 1m on a player (Beckford likely to be nearer 3m) needs there head read.
