I did hope his friendship with Mass would get him over the line, but he's also just been in Russia with van Bommel (PSV manager) and previously did two years with PEC Zwolle. At 26 he wants to be in the shop window and play at the highest level so there's no turning down the Champion's League. Pity, he's a farking good player.

Reigning Champions, Champions League v. QPR?

      Was it really any contest?
      No, I dont think so

No brainer for him and just a pity we wasted the time we did on trying to get a deal sorted. We do need at least 1 defender in as no guarantee Hall will be fit or the player he was 2 to 3 year ago.

Should've cut our interest in him a week ago and looked elsewhere hanging on almost to the bitter end make the board look weak and amatueris , thinking they can get something for nothing , now whoever we get will be looked on as second best

Some wild over -reaction but generally sensible on here. Hopefully bodes well for the roller coaster we enjoy that is QPR. For me, wait until Thursday before making an interim judgment, loans having been mentioned by McClaren.

Possibly, but players won't speak to just one club or arrange meetings with just one either.

Even if we had offered him the best deal we could he wouldn't have opted for us until he spoke to all the clubs who wanted him.

I would rather he did what he did rather then do what Ned Zelic did.

Really? Maybe we should only sign players that sign immediately then? So easy to say these things with hindsight.

We weretalking to him for nigh on a month buf and earlier via Luongo , should we sign only players that sign immediately no but we should want players that want to come QPR not players that want to hang on untill near the last moment that can then leave us less of an option we become desperate so any selling club might ask for more money so can lose out that way as well , heaven knows we've lost with players desideing to go at the last minute then it's been too late to spend the money , can't see how any body can disagree , we might be in shlt street at the moment but will prove Sainsbury wont be bigger than QPR

We were always a plan Z for him. No contest in choice between us and PSV.

Lessons learned etc. We move on, stay strong. Will be lots of ups and downs this season.

To withdraw our interest would be the equivalent of a bloke asking a bird out, she’s says “"I'’ll think about it"”, a better looking bloke with more money asks her out and then the first bloke goes back and says, actually I don’t want to go out with you

She keeps you dangling untill the last minute before she says yes to her rich husband you should have known better in the first place

totally believable. was supposedly on a big wage in china - allegedly turned down a £50k wage in saudi arabia (not entirely sure about this though)... was only likely to fit into our wage structure if no one else in europe was going to make an offer.

                                Honest question.

If given the choice of young Eze signing a three year contract, or signing an Australian with excessive wage demands that in all honesty, most of us hadn’t heard of a couple of months ago, what would you have gone for?

A bit of perspective is in order, I feel.
