Steve McClaren says it is vital that QPR bring in players before the loan window closes at the end of this month. German defender Toni Leistner is the only senior player signed by Rangers so far this summer. And McClaren, whose first game as Rangers manager ended in a 1-0 defeat at Preston, believes the […]
Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes
Why Al ?it's still the skint club they will be loaning them to it's not up to McLaren if we can afford wages or a loan fee
Of course sending a young player to us is more likely under McLaren than Holloway. McLaren is generally accepted as an excellent coach with a good track record developing young players. Holloway didn't even know how to properly treat our own young players, let alone entrusting him with players on loan from the top flight.

Oh yeah Holloway was really crap the way he handled the young players after January ! Or did you expect him to throw them in from the start of last season , let's just wait and see how things pan out under McLaren first before assuming he's a great coach many say he's in the last chance saloon

Well i`ve seen some of the most ridiculas things being spouted on the net, but this statements right up there it really is, unbeeeelievable statement of complete and utter drivel, from some who quite obviously has a beef along with a few others towards Holloway!
Holloway did a fantastic job with the younger players and the squad in general was coming along great until sacked, but things will improve because we`ve got a by far superior coach in now, you can tell by yesterdays performance.

Dogs, it was a youth hokey-cokey one game in, next game out. Tell it to Oteh. And I won't be the only one to have the opinion that Ramsey had a hand in it. True though that McLaren's reputation could come crashing down if he doesn't deliver.

And that is how you bring the youth in, nice and steady, anyone knows this.

Just to give my comments a bit of context mate. My issue with Holloway and how he treated young players was consistency. Players seemed to fluctuate from flavour of the month to out in the cold, often without good reason. At one stage he was asked why he wasn't giving Chair a game, his answer was "well we've never won when he's played", he said similar about Shodipo too. Basically saying that he's not selecting players not because of how they've performed, but instead because of his own superstitions.
Whether you choose to agree with it or not, Steve Mclaren has a far better reputation as a coach, and with regards to improving young players. And rightly so too having been First Team Coach at Man Utd during one of the most successful periods in their history. This will almost certainly help us if we choose to try to bring in some loans from the Premier League before the window closes.

While we all paid to watch Washington week in, week out. BOS and Oteh could have been given a run off the bench at any time and regularly. That satisfies the nice and steady theory and if they are good enough they stay in. Smyth made a difference immediately.
