Euro 96 has become mythologised and the memory of it is at odds to how poor the tournament actually was and how poorly it was actually attended, but that night was something special.Comment

Whether progressing past Spain was a "win" or not, don't forget the 2 perfectly good Spanish goals which were wrongly ruled out for offside, or the penalty they were not awarded which ended up as a free kick for England... We can't always say England were unlucky.Comment
