we fans played a part in it too, and I think the club re-acted to it, there's a lot of us who were hypocritical about the way we were playing, and patience went out the window.

But I would say only SOME fans did. Not all.

There were faults, because he was learning.
But I bought in to what he was trying to do, and was prepared to be patient with him. I trusted his pedigree, and was quite proud to have such a well respected football man running the team.

And after the ridiculous Dowie sacking, I'd learned my lesson about "patience".

The simple fact of life is if you do not concede goals, you do not loose football matches and on the basis, football is about winning, its not a bad philosophy to follow.

I for one backed Sousa. Those who didn't fair enough but if you cannot now say that you were wrong, especially in the predicament we are in well... you are just plain wrong or a bit simple. Everyone can see we would be better off with him and without some of the other clowns at our club, stats don't lie.

He has a pedigree in the game that the majority of the football world should envy let alone anyone in the Championship or the absolute hand pumps we have running our club.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I will admit at the time I thought we could do better and hated the style of football. At the time I was not too disappointed he went.

However where I differ from our learned friends is that I put my hands up and say now the club should have been patient and I was completely wrong in a big way. He is doing a stunning job at Swansea which is there for all to see. It could have been us.

The lesson is be patient and a manager should be given a whole season at the very least, probably in all cases. But hey, I am just a fan who goes to work the rest of the week. It was our boards job to recognise this fact and they have failed miserably, again and again and again and again. Nomarks, the lot of them.

I wish Sousa all the luck in the world and really hope Swansea go up with Forest. They deserve it and we deserve nothing.

I too wasn't a huge fan of Sousa's football and even though most creative players were unavailable. I thought QPR could still have played a better brand of football. I too was disappointed that he kept on making team changes in midfield & attack for no apparent reason.

However, when he was sacked, QPR were in a comfortable mid-table position and in no danger of going down. In other words, there was no harm in keeping faith with him, and see what his team played like this season when Buzsaky, Rowlands, Vine & Agyemang regained fitness and with perhaps the loan signings of Taarabt & Simpson.

My guess is that if those players were available to him, QPR would not only not be in this mess, but probably in a poistion to challenge for the top 2.

The reason I say top 2 is because on paper, QPR have a better squad than Swansea, so if they are in 5th place, QPR being higher would be a real possibility.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and many are now pointing to Swansea's form as evidence of the man's genius. Martinez built the squad and the team ethics, Sousa has picked up the reins and done a good job of carrying it on.

Those that say we have a better squad of players than them - that is an opinion you hold, not a fact and certainly not one based on watching them play week in week out (Swansea that is rather than Rangers). Obviously this fits with your case that Sousa is a genius for coaching a bunch of useless no hopers to 4th in the table and then compare it with our current/previous managers' inability to do the same with a clearly superior bunch of players.

Well, for those that don't/didn't rate Sousa, your argument might be that he also failed to achieve with that superior (to Swanseas) bunch of players or it might be something else.

Personally, I hated the football under his tenure at Rangers and wasn't upset when he left although I didn't celebrate either. I don't accept his current success at Swansea as evidence that he is a genius or indeed that he was the right man for Rangers. In fact, based on my assessment of the ability and attitude of "our players" I honestly believe we would have been no better off with Sousa in charge this season than we are now. Equally, if Martinez was still manager of Swansea, they would be no worse off than they are now.

That is MY opinion and I am looking at it with no rose tinted glasses as my feelings on the man himself are very neutral - he was after all, only here for a dog watch!
And, for those in the pro camp - just one more thought. You say we have a "superior squad" to Swansea and I have shared some thoughts on that above, but you do say that in one breath, yet in the next, you say that Sousa was building and having to work with what he had in support of the dull and non-productive football - so it seems you are seeking to support your argument with a fair slice of contradiction.

Ah, football fans, yes we are all expert's and have the inside track/know how when it comes to these things. Which is why we are all here rather than punting our CV's around the Premier League :confused:

It just makes it easier now he is doing well at Swansea for some others to swap alliegeance. I can tell you many questioned his tactics whilst here and did not think he was delivering.

Very similar to Helguson, suddenly you get supporters wanting him back because he scores for Watford, yet when he was here did he get any support from the fans?

At the end of the day sosua was just starting out on his career getting to know the league and the best way to set your team out.

Yes we drew alot of games nil nil but if you dont concede you dont lose games it's as simple as that and if he didn't of had his top striker loaned out from under his nose them we might of won more games,also if he wasn't told to play that donkey di carmnie things might have been different.
