A get the argument for Ramsey Jimmy. Don't think it would be a good idea to go back there though. As Westy posted somewhere earlier, the guy really buckled under a bit of pressure last time. Ok, expectations will be lower this time, and the squad will be players he knows rather than the overpaid prima donnas he had last time. But if it went wrong again, can you imagine the pelters Fernandes would get for going back there.

The next manager has to be one for the future and not just someone to get us promoted.
Ramsey is a great coach, but no point in appointing him as he would struggle in the prem.
If Ollie was to leave, then I think Wild Thing would be a good shout, if available.
He has been building up his experience levels, has a passion for the club and with a season or 2 in The Championship, could make the transition to the prem.
Throw Clint in as his number 2 and I think we could have a great future.

Keep him where he is, he is not doing too bad developing the kids,
thats why he is called the pe teacher.
Called the pe teacher by you but well respected in the game by most. Not sure how wearing a beanie hat affects his coaching ability.

Ramsay doing great in the role he is in and would be a good man to have on board in a new set up. Gerrard looks like he is off to Glasgow Rangers who do not have any money and a #### squad for him to work with. We on the other hand have potentially very good young players for a decent young coach to work with. These type of guys are not needing the wage more a case of a challenge and to prove that they can coach as well as they played.

Steven Gerrard crossed my mind too. Fact is, that type of hire is always a roll of the dice. Great player doesn't always mean great manager. A lot of good managers also need a job or 2 to find their feet too.

Agreed Tarbie but with Ramsay as number 2 that could work well or at least have a better chance of working. Said in another thread Scholes for me with Ramsay to develop the young lads we have in the middle of the park. Was interviewed for the Oldham job so why not at least make an approach.

Scholes is such an introvert though. Great footballer for sure, I reckon he could probably still walk into our first team now. But surely you want a manager to be a little more communicative and outgoing than that?!!
