Thought Smithies Mrs is having / just had a sprog ? Could be less likely to move with a newborn (or narrows it to London teams).

Just putting 2 and 2 together really mate. We're skint, Smithies is worth a few quid, and we have a back up keeper that is half decent, who is getting some game time. Whilst I really like Smithies, losing him wouldn't be a train smash as we have 3 good keepers. I also think the window of opportunity to get a decent fee for him might be running out. He's got 2 years left, and has just turned 28, next summer he'll be worth next to nothing. This summer we could still get a decent fee!

Yep thought that too, why give them the heads up, excuses being set it seems to me. Has given it too large in last 3 meetings and is now on the back foot again.....unless it’s a cunning disguise!
