  • Interesting loss ratio

As we keep getting reminded that Sousa had the lowest win ratio of managers since the takeover, I thought i would look at which Permanent manager had the lowest defeats ratio

    Sousa- 26 games- 7 defeats- 27%
    Dowie- 15 games- 4 defeats- 27%
    Magilton - 22 games- 7 defeats 32%
    Di Canio- 35 games-12 defeats 34%

So, for people to suggest that Di Canio had a better record than Sousa, the facts are there for you. Di Canio statistcly lost the most games. 12 draws in that as well, which over half of them came from us throwing away the lead.

He was definitly charasmatic, we did play entertaining football and he might be doing well in serie B, but his record here was the worst

De canio took us from bottom of the championship !!!

Do me favour, it thats the only angle you can find than it just proves one thing, you must be in love with the guy.

    Tally up the points
    Tally the win records
    tally up how many draws

terry, please tell me you were more gutted with Dowie and Magilton going than Sousa?

To be honest Pete I was gutted when all of them left, but for me, Sousa was an unkown and potentially could of been our Mourinho. Fair enough it wasn't exciting to watch, but you have to give someone more than 26 games

              Fair enough

though in truth whilst Sousa could have been our Mouriniho, he ended up being our Mullery

When you give someone their first ever job, you have to be even more patient, the board knew this when taking him on. Surely you don't believe he went out to draw every game 0-0? More attacking options for him would of resulted in more wins

So would most managers if they are handed a huge number of players in a transfer window.

trust me mate i dont get excited by the transfer rumours.i would just rather concentrate on supprting my team than goin back talking about ex players and ex managers.of course like u had a prefereed certain managers but just want my fellow r's to get behind the team and whoever is in charge now or the future.

What your saying is daft.... Did you see the squad De Canio had when he took over? Rehman, Bolder, Curtis, Barker, Stewart, Moore, Lomas, Bignot, Nygarrd etc etc... exactly how was he supposed to produce magic? I thought he did very well and we would be top 2 by now had he stayed.

                          More attacking options?

He dropped Blackstock from one game completely from the squad for no reason and had him on the bench for a few near the end.

                            Writler.

Mullery had the pedigree too, played at the highest level.

Okay maybe a bit OTT, but he wasn't great with us

Dave Mc wrote recently that he thought we would have gone down the next season had LDC stayed - he is not alone in that opinion.

LDC's form towards the end of the season was decidely average after the initial run due to the influx of loans before the transfer window and then the signings made.
