    rowlands is a big loss
but akos is a bigger loss and a more key player even though rowlands is our captain

akos gives us more of an edge and a bit more creativity
i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

Did the same for Helguson (since his arrival) and it makes an interesting reading.
Seems to be more important than most people think. Not a single win when he is not in the team.

      This season:
      Played: 24
      Won: 7 - (29.2%)
      Drawn: 11 - (45.8%)
      Lost: 6 - (25,0%)
Goals for: 23 (0.96 goals per game scored)
Goals Against: 22 (0.92 goals per game conceded)

      Without Helguson:
      Played: 6
      Won: 0 - (0,0%)
      Drawn: 4 - (66,7%)
      Lost: 2 - (33,3%)
Goals for: 2 (0.33 goals per game scored)
Goals Against: 5 (0,67 goals per game conceded)

      With Helguson:
      Played: 18
      Won: 7 - (38,9%)
      Drawn: 7 - (38,9%)
      Lost: 4 - (22,2%)
Goals for: 21 (1.17 goals per game scored)
Goals Against: 17 (0.94 goals per game conceded)

        Great stats!

I think the intelligent type of player can get a lot of success in this league and if Helguson can stay fit and link up with Buzsaky and Vine we will have a lot of success.

To be honest i really feared Rowlands wouldnt ever play for us again! But im over the moon to hear he will be back next season fighting fit and ready to go!

He's one of the best passers we have, switches the play very well, can tackle, can score, is our designated penalty taker, oh and not forgetting our captain.

Cant wait for next season, ordered my new home shirt today!!!

"AND ITS QUEENS PARK ROWLANDS"..."QUEENS PARK ROWLANDS FC!!"
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

I thought i'd bump up this old thread to remind people of last seasons stats with and without Rowlands.

              Great read again.

I'm a stats man, and they are things you can't really argue with.

The reason why Rowlands is not in everyones selection is to do with the following:

                1) Injury prone, always misses vast amounts of seasons.
                2) I do not see how he can be captain as he is always injuried so he's never there. For a club captain its not enough.
                3) Past his best now, becoming slower and lost his edge.
                4) Younger players now (like watson) are the future for teh club, Rowlands is coming to end of his career.
                5) There are better captains and leaders available that can do a better job.

This isn't meant to be a harsh post, but bottom line is that he wasn't the player he was 3 years ago and I feel now its time to move on from Martin.

The stats are from last season and not three years ago and until Watson is signed permanently I wouldn't describe him as the future of the club but you are entitled to your opinion.
