    Chief Executive ***** added "We wanted to play a much higher tempo game and ***** was comfortable with that"

    So we're not the only club who has a non football person/board 'advising' the manager!

    If you haven't seen this (in a paper today) I'll be amazed if you can guess which club this is.

    No one even tried to guess or comment on the fact that this (successful) club seem to be doing OK, even though the board, on appointment, told the manager how they wanted the team to play.

    Anyway the Chief Executive in question is from Wolves talking about Mick McCarthy!

      Pinner. Very interesting quote. Did you also know that in McCarthy's first seaon in charge of Wolves his team only scored 12 goals in their first 16 matches whereas Dowie's team managed over 20 goals in his 15 games in charge. Also last season Wolves went through a run of getting only 4 points in 8 league matches. Not winning once during that time. They were also the 7th lowest scoring team in the division. They also had a run this season of 6 points in 9 games.

      Just goes to show why it pays to give the manager time.

        In fairness...And this is ONLY my opinion...MM has spent a disgusting amount of money, and if he was a competant manager *should* have gotten them out of this league sooner.

          There has been a lot of movement in and out. But it does appear that he has spent over £7m on players. But the club has also sold about the same amount during the same period.
