OK, best case scenario, the boardroom impasse is sorted out and either a new mechanism is found for the other board members to invest or Flavio goes and is replaced by Amit, the Americans or some other combination. Sanity returns. We appoint a half decent manager. The sporting director is thanked for his sterling service and promoted to life president with no responsibility to influence transfer dealings. A channel of communication is set up between fans and the club so QPR is no longer trying that risky business strategy - of alienating its already small band of customers.
But then what? Back come from loan all the bad boys like Hall, Agypants in his Bentley, even Pellicori with two further years left to run on his contract? Helguson even, who will be about 97 by then. And Vine, who cd be moonlighting as the new face of Pukka Pies. None of these players will have really been got rid of; the problem has simply been deferred. From what we all know of these players is anyone really going to be as stupid as we were to pay them similarly hugely generous and long contracts?
It seems we will then have the dilemma of either buying them out of contracts (very expensive and probably using up much of any budget for new players) or they come back like a bad smell with their bad attitude and high wages.
Even if we do stay up and get through this season without any further major incidents (and no one wd bet on that) then I see some difficult decisions over the summer. Thoughts?
