We will need 4 homegrown players in our 16 man squad for games.

    Balanta?

    Who else?
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

The rule would require four players in a 16-man matchday squad to have been registered domestically for at least three years before their 21st birthday.

Registered domestically meaning in England. Why are you simply thinking under 21s. Most of our squad would be I feel. Exception of Cerny, Helguson etc

              Because the rule states:

I'm not 100% sure. Read this:

A player will be considered ‘home grown’ if he has been registered for three entire seasons (or 36 months) prior to his 21st birthday (or end of season in which he turns 21) with a club affiliated to the Football Association or Football Association of Wales.

To me that sounds like he has to have signed for us 3 years before his 21st Birthday. Players like Vine, Cook and Legs haven't been at the club 3 years and they are all older than 21 when they did sign. What age was Blackstock and when did he sign?

It just says 'a club' it doesnt specify THE club which I would take to mean any domestic player who has been playing at a football league club for at least 3 years so that would be a high number of our squad and include players like Vine, Cook, Ramage etc so we would have no worries!
Thats how I interpret it anyway!

                        Dex was 20 i think.

I think it does basically mean 4 english players.

So Vine, Balanta....you get the picture

Its players registered in this country, so even foreign players count. A player who played for an english team for 3 years qualifies, as an example fabregas would qualify for arsenal as home grown.
