  • Dexter Blackstock - From last nights match programme...

Q: "Do you feel as though your own game has improved over the last six months??"

A: "Definitely, working with the manager has helped enormously. People forget that I had just turned 20 when I went to QPR and had a big part to play in keeping them up. So much went on at QPR behind the scenes with so many managerial changes that there were times when I wasn't necessarily improving as a player. It's very difficult to do so when there's so much instability. It's different here at Forest, and I know my game has improved working with the gaffer and his coaching staff. It was always going to happen because I'm maturing and playing more games.... but the gaffer has helped it along".

Leaving aside the usual tired old Blackstock arguments.... that says a lot about the merits of having a proven manager in sole charge, who commands respect from Day One.

I'll stand by my thoughts that not only is Dex underated/unappreciated by many of our fans, butthat we'll miss him and clearly are. I hope he goes on to do well.

I stand by him being overated. Not got pace, worse technique than pat, weak. But he did score goals. I would have sold him for what we got, but, would have got someone to replace him - on a perm, not a loanee.

Knew this would be the case.

He has scored 8 league goals and is jumping ahead of guys on a hatrick to take penaltys. That tells me he is very desperate for goals a bit like we are down LR. Earnshaw is quality but NOOOO lets keep bringing up Blackstock.
Benny you really do get on my t its you really blo ody do!!!!!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

            I agree.

The main reason why he is missed is because no one has really replaced him.

Simpson, for me, was signed to replace the outgoing Helguson.

Pellicori was signed to replace Di Carmine.

            So where is Blackstock's replacement.

Fair enough to him, his comments do make some sense.

He was signed by Waddock, and then in 3 seasons played under Gregory, De Canio, Dowie, & Sousa as well as temporary managers and all had differing playing styles.

I really like blackstock, weve missed him since he went and imo it was a awful decision to let him go.

very limited footballer imo and will never make it in the PM - we replaced him with better, simpson, albeit a loan. we needed 3 other better strikers to go with simpson. we get peliroci, aggy and a crocked vine. we failed on so many other levels as well which compounded the problem.

we are now in situation where we are going for someone like hulse, fair enoough. but we need more than hulse, two more in fact. Look at forest last night...they take off 2 strikers and bring on two very able relacements. in order to get out of the CCC you need 4 good, not great, but good strikers.

                    here endeth the lesson

Never went in the wood work fella, ive allways said he is a decent player and that we would miss him...

I found him frustrating because imo he never played to his full potential after the death of Ray Jones.

Maybe your right, maybe i wouldnt be saying this if he had been replaced, but then again we havent replaced him so my opinion stands mate.

And in the interview he is also right, weve been having a go at the players for not being very good last night/last 8 games..

But is it their fault they feel unsettled?

As fans we look for somebody to blame, and the players are normally in the fireing line what with the boo's, but whos hireing and fireing these managers, they should be taking the blame....

Exactly! If we had a bit of stability under a DECENT manager (sorry but last night shows Harford clearly isn't up to the challenge) who the players are behind, then we easily have a squad capable of challenging for the playoffs...next season.

If Blackstock is saying it's hard to develop with so much instability, then by that logic the likes of Hogan, Balanta, Faulin and Connolly are all being harmed when they COULD develop into class players with a bit of guidance.
Will change my user name to half full when QPR give me reason too...

Get over yourself and don't read my posts if that's the case as you **** me off massively of late. If someone dissagrees it's either becuse they arewrong or that they've never played a decent level of football.

And I've never been hidden away. Always been one to stand by my word, even when I said Aggy and Stewart were pony against everyone elses word. I'm not one to sit on the fence and never will.

Sorry that my opinion get's on your #### mate. Maybe you shoud go and excercise and there won't be any moobs for me to get on?
