There was probably a £ 2 mill trigger clause in his contract , he will earn more money , he will be virtually guaranteed Prem football next year and he'll be playing in front off 50,000 fans whio support their team through thick and thin and don't #### their players off when they have a bad game!!

I never considered him our best player, and as Maddix said who would not turn down a move to Newcastle at the moment, they have to be mad, club & player.
