Some could argue a team sprinkled with reserve team players creates poor results, but there is nothing more certain to have players fighting for space on the treatment tables than low moral.
Now I'm not suggesting Chris Riggott, Gary O’Neil and Tony McMahon - who are the latest walking wounded - are looking for a way out of a struggling side ... the fact remains the injured 'parties' have now reached double figures.
And that speaks for itself.
And of course there is Jonathan Franks, who was rushed into hospital over the weekend with suspected appendicitis.
Gordon Strachan: “It’s a wee challenge at the moment.
“Saturday’s team was it, in terms of senior recognised first team players.
“We’ve picked up a few more knocks so we’ll have a look at it tomorrow.
“We’ll continue to deal with it because we have to. But you can see why we need to bring more players in.”
