Thats not a statment that they are going, but a realisation that money doesn't grow on trees, and at the same token of having a pop at the owners, you cannot expect them just to fund extra for players, (that got us into trouble first time around under Chris Wright)

with the crowds we have. Something has to be done to balance the books a little. You cannot have spending spiralling out of control

well lee boyer was sold and the money brought in 4 quality players so yeah i agree as long as we replace them with good players

thats the key point, isn't it - IF they money was re-invested in the playing squad. I'm a realist who has always known QPR was a selling club from the time we sold one of my heroes, Clive Allen, and we were probably doing it long before that. The problem is that we all know Routledge etc will not be replaced.

Gerry Francis was one of the greats, but left before we made a FA Cup final.

If it means getting 4-5 players in, then I am for it.

We don't have dogged footballers, willing to put the foot in. We have to much flair in the side and when backs are against the wall, not much fight

I can see your understanding mate, but what you have to consider is that they haven't really had the right manager/coach and with what has been happening behind the scenes I could say that a lot of players haven't performed to their potential.....

With Harford in charge and with stability he may get the best out of them again... who knows.

Also if they are that bad or off form then why do Forest & Middlesborough want one of them? Two top managers can see the potential just like me...

Buzz and Routledge are already quality. just because they haven't been on fire for the last couple of months doesn't mean we should get rid.

As everyone has said the key is IF the money is used to bring in other players. If the board were to make a statement along those lines then some of the more reasonable supporters may understand. The problem at the moment is that the board are saying nothing and the rumours are rife and our track record isn't great. If we sold WR for say £2m but bought in the 3 players we need in other areas, that were of the quality required, then I would accept it was a necessary move.

Pete they never said that when they promised a better match day experiance in exchange for the ticket increases. The wanabe big boys that own our club have made their bed, so let them lie in it and maybe now they see the disaster that is W12 (which you have been defending until yesterday), they might address the way things are done.

I agree pete, too many people don't realise that football clubs run on borrowed money. We are currently spending way beyond our means and if the wage bill needs trimming then fair enough. What concerns me though Is selling our best players to do it as we can't shift the overpaid crap on lengthy contracts

Yes, I would blame the person who agreed contracts for Ageymang and Hall and that has to be GP and Flavio, makes it harder to loan them out or sell them.

Don't think he can be blamed for Vine, who before his injury was a good purchase

But we chose to sell Francis as he was a spent force.Same as Bowles when he went to Forest. Not a key first team member. Remember also the many bids from Spurs, Arsenal and Man Utd that were rejected when Francis was at his peak in 73-76.

Not a relevant comparison.

Phil Parkes or Terry Fenwick maybe as they were both at their peak and never adequately replaced.

What happened to your "form is temporary class is permanent we will come good and play offs are certain" talk?!?

Before we embark on a rip it up and start again on the playing front I'd suggest the movers and shakers sit down and do a "lessons learn't" exercise. Hopefully what will come out of that is:
1. Get rid of DoF position.
2. Appoint a proven Manager
3. Set proven Manager a series of milestones and review them at regular intervals (but not weekly or hourly )
4. Back proven Manager with a set budget and aim for a BALANCED squad
5. Build bridges with the fan base - we might find the finances improve, the tema improves and everyones happy.
6. Movers and shakers stick to what they are VERY good at (ie sponsorship, profiling and marketing)

If you'd willingly sell two decent players and trust the current incumbants to suddenly do things the right way on the back of it then I'd suggest you lay off the disco biscuits.

Besides - I thought we were ADDING 4 or 5 decent players and 2 of those are absolute class for this level?
