  • Harford & Hart

It seems to me that a majority of people prefer that Harford is in charge now.

Is this the case? and if so why?

For me, Harford is old school and a very likeable guy. Someone who people find it easy to respect because he's a no-nonsense type guy but not at all nasty with it. He's very much an unproven source who wants to do well and showed that when he was in charge between JG and GDC.

Hart, as good a guy he seems is also too quiet and looks too scared to make big decissions and to command authority. Great record with youth, but it was clear to see his tactics were poor.
      Your mum would love me...

Probably the perception of Harford is better than Hart, he appears more connected and positive.

Hart just looked like a caretaker, nothing more.
He looked like the caretaker who is unmasked at the end of most episodes of Scooby-Doo.

And if that's how he appears to fans, then players may view him that way too.

Not sure Harford is looked at the same way... even though he probably is only the manager until may.

agree with this.i think the players have a certain fear factor towards him which is needed IMO.

wot i didnt understand is why they were brought in together.they have never worked with eachother before and usually a manger brings in his own assistant.

I think you could draw parallels when we had Houston and Rioch down here and their job roles reversed from when they were at Arsenal and Rioch was boss

Houston came across as a nice guy but was hopeless in charge and Rioch was an ######## but scared players in to submission I think.

Don't believe Harford is as bad of Rioch of course and certainly not an ######## but he does seem to get the respect of players where ever he goes.

Think you're spot on there. Many professional footballers I've spoken to,reckon that as a player Harford was the hardest man in the game.Eats Vinnie Jones for breakfast. I think he conceals this well but most players Know his reputation and respect him for that.Worth giving him a run.Don't think we lost under him during his last short stint in charge.

To me he seems more switched on and more positive.... also he looks like he wants todo really well and impress so for now he fits the bill.

Although if we loose badly to forest I wonder if people will still have the same feelings...

Hart's record as a manager is generally poor and I was mystified as to why he got the Pompey job or our one. Seems a very decent bloke but just not one you would want in charge.

Harford seems well respected, is an experienced coach and I think did well in extremely difficult situation at Lootown. Well worth giving a chance to.

i doubt most will feel the same.we seem to jump on everyone's back once we loose one game.

It was Hart who wanted Harford inn because he knew the club and the players!!

How did those cartoon caretakers ever get jobs?

Didn't their bosses ever look at their CVs first and find something suspicious on them?

                              Unbelievable.
