The best possible way to succeed is for Flavio to say
"here is 10 million quid, get us promoted"
Realistically that is not going to happen
See, this is where I have a problem following Flav's/the board's logic. Being in the CCC is always going to equate to losses. In the example you used last week, a difference of £4m between gate receipts and player wages.
So if they are not going to go the extra mile and pay for the players and managers/coaches that will get us promoted, what is the actual plan to get us to the Prem?
Keep bringing in second rate managers, unproven or second rate players and hope for the best? That was GP's "plan" when we were skint!
"Hoping for the best" has NEVER EVER EVER been a recipe for success in business in any industry.
FACT: Flav can't afford to keep putting much more into the club, he won't have the disposable income to do so. If there aren't any buyers out there, as Pete suggests, what's Flav's exit strategy once he can't put in any more to the club?
Last point is a good question, I think Flavio has a bit more than we give him credit for and I'm sure Ecclestone and Amit would also help with the finances, but I really don't know in what capacity.

I'd like to think all the points were good, particularly with regards to what the actual plan is to get us into the Prem. Is it just the "hit and hope" strategy that has been evident since the end of the 07-08 season?
Personally, I would have more respect for opinions, based on what has happened since the takeover, thats where you judge a person. Problem is we mock players now, but ever since GP never went to see a player play at Glentoran, its been a vendetta basically from day one. Then the Indyr's was born
I could understand a site that started after the takeover and even appreciate that fans are not happy now, but the Indyr;s web site was set well before the takeover through the dark days of the club. I am sure certain posters on here plus my self can confirm the negativity was happening when we were bottom of the league struggling relegation and they were attacking then. Current position in the league just gives them more ammunition and to a degree more listeners because we are not doing well. It plays on the negatvity. whereas most can take a look at the bigger picture, be negative when it needs to be and be positive when its needed to be.
I never saw many complaints when we were playing good football in October for instance and in the space of 3 months, things don't suddenly become undesirable or terrible, but if you play on the negativity and keep banging on about it, sometimes it will stick especially when the club are struggling on the pitch.
Because I tend to come and defend all aspects of the club, it then becomes personal with accusations that I've just supported the club or get freebies. Why is that?? Simply, they have nothing else. They want supporters on-side and anything they can do to blacken someone's name they will do.
As I said, this has been going on for years, it rears its ugly head when the club are struggling, they don't like postivity. The moment I posted we are after 4-5 players, I got the usual attackers using any excuse, to try and dampen any positivity. This great club is like a Political Party, that political party has not simply been born in the last 3 months, its been going on for about 5 years. I saw a quiet small select group of fans go very silent, when Flavio first come into the club, why?? I know why, at last it seemed the club could be united and very difficult to find a negative angle, 2 years down the line its much easier to find.
I wish like most fans we do well and push up the table, then hopefully these people quieten down again, as they will have nothing to whinge about.
In a nutshell.
If you play on the negatvity enough, when things are going not so well your audience will be bigger, you have nothing left when things are positive. That to me demonstrates an agenda, that is only used when it suits.
BY the way, this thread is not defending one particular person, just an emphasis, that in general all this negativity has been going on for years.
Thats a convenient way to re-write QPR history Pete.
The abridged version is more accurately described as follows:
Dunga flys in and helps oust BP/Devlin.
Certain members of the LSA are "invited to leave".
FOQPR is formed.
IndyRs is formed.
Whats left of the LSA carries on.
Club's Legal rep comes into play.
WATRBs is formed.
As for Postman Pete, you really think that was the reason IndyRs was formed? Thats an absolute joke fella. And as far as Postman Pete himself, could he have been any worse than Pellicori/Tchacounte/Oliseh/Branco etc etc etc?
QBP 20th August 2009..."To be fair, I'm glad we are top of the table (for agents fees). Shows we are not a selling club anymore."
cant have been "postman pete" as he has never played for Glentoran and would be mortified if someone thought he had.
"full time footballer Peter Thompson" is now back at Linfield on loan from Stockport.
type of striker we are probably looking at again

Well, Peter????

Captain, one of the reasons of course. The LSA split because people were going to press without consultation with other elected members after all LSA is a constitution, that was also another reason
FOQPR couldn't work with the now members of the Independent R's, as some reponsible for dividing, the original LSA. Shame, because the LSA had substance and thousands of members and now is only just recovering.
Anyway, I am only answering your question, I really don't think it does anyone any good talking about what happened in last few years, its what happens in the future thats important. You cannot acheive anything in life, if you keep talking about the past.

Wondered if there's a chance of an answer to this one?
Think the policy is to do it as cheap as possible. That could be argued is econmical sense. If we bought a player for 3 million and he turned out to be s.hite, we would all say they are p.issing the money up the wall.
I'm not a lover of Flavio, but you have to look at history at F1. He didn't have drivers becoming world champions overnight and normally people like him succeed against the negativity.
I personally think we have been very unlucky
Dowie got us to 4th and left/sacked as flavio was new in his position and felt he could do it all.
Sousa had us 7th and then tactially so negative saw us not win a game for 2 months, though still adored by some, we clearly missed the chance of a play off spot.
Magilton had us 4th and we then lost influential players Rowlands and Mahon, then he lost the dressing room after poor results.
We are now 10th, conceivably we can progress, but every fan you speak to are down in the dumps, but still a way to go this season.
We've had some players who have not done well, but Ageymang did have a purple patch under De Canio and the club cannot be faulted that a confident Vine, broke his leg and never been the same since. Players like Reid and Watson should have worked but didn't, not sure you can blame the board for that??

Excellent posts by Goddard and Bernie's Barnet. I'm sure sums up most fans feelings. But...we are still quite capable of a play-off place so lets keep on hoping for the best, as it doesn't look like much more money will be spent this season, and it doesn't look like GP will be 'relieved' of his duties as a (sort of) Director of Football.
I do think, however, that most supporters who post on messageboards underestimate what GP did in bringing in people who could at least reverse the slide into oblivion that seemed likely at one stage.

I don't buy into the "gp saved the club" pony. At the end of the day he is the man that nearly took us into administration. IF anyone saved us it was flavio, gp only saved his position at the club
