She is Just a little weary when walking in this weather as when it freezes over it turns to black ice etc

My Missus went to cross the road at the pelican crossing last night and slipped and fell over in to the road hitting her head and it was lucky the lights were turning to red and the cars slowed down.

We all laugh about people sliding about etc but it is dangerous out there for some especially the elderly so if you are going to the shops etc then why not see if one of your elderly neighbours needs some bread or milk etc.

I doubt the game will be on as salt is running out and the pavements being done for a football game will be deemed a luxury by LBHF.

If the game does go ahead then I reckon 2-1 to QPR but the Bovril running out by 3.05pm

I fell over three times yesterday, the last fall really knocked the wind out of me. I think! I hit the ground with the back of my head, the base of my spine and elbows took most of the impact, it really is no laughing matter. Luckly my wife was with me, and she walked me back home at a very slow pace .... I feel for any of you who've taken a tumble in these bad conditions.

Beefy is right, if the elderly folk take a fall the results can be devastating, as I recently found out with my own 81 year old Mum. She fell over back in June last year and broke her right arm, sprained her left arm, broke her nose which left her with two black eye's, she got two cracked ribs and very bad brusing to both her knees ..... and that was without the snow and ice we have now! Thankfully she is well on the mend, but wont go out now until the conditions clear.

We live in a small village in Surrey called Chiddingfold, the main road which goes through the village is the A283, that's been well gritted. Sadly for most of the village the side streets are still ungritted and unpassable with the average family car.
I've not been able to move my car since Tuesday evening in the small close that we live in. The people with 4x4's are the exception. Sorry to offend many of you who want the QPR v PAFC game to go ahead, but I don't, only on the lines that I can't navigate two hills in my car over the short half-mile distance to the A283.
I guess if the Rangers game does beat the freeze then we'll have to get the train ..... if their running. Our nearest station at Witley, is about two and a bit miles away, I guess things could be far worse, we still have electric ... unlike the our near neighbours in the village of Hambledon, who've not had power for near on three days!!

Anyway, Happy New 2010 Year to all of you, and a 2-1 win for The R's v Plymouth if it's on .... U R'ssssssssssssss!!
