You won't find me slagging of prospective signings or new ones. As far as I am concerned, everyone comes here with a blank sheet of paper until they prove themselves to be committed to the cause (or not).

IF we do get Folan and Cousin, I am encouraged that someone has FINALLY seen the bleedin' obvious thing that has been round for the last two seasons - we have a lack of striking options. We did two years ago and then we blindly sold our best striker because he gave our Erstwhile leader some much deserved disrespect and never replaced him. What mystefies me totally is that whoever has been recruiting the players has been unable to see that every team that goes up out of this league has an excess of top strikers - normally at least three, maybe four rather than the one loanee we have been left with this season....

IF (again, note the emphasis) we get a big old unit in midified and a big, ugly centre back, then I will be happy as that is what the team needs.

      Now for 'dem full backs!

Cant stand people moaning as if we can sign whoever we want!
I'll be in the R Block as always on Saturday, and i reckon it could be a turning point....we may just have ad 'our blip' for the season
i agree also. I think in some cases we could buy slightly better, but dont think there is anything wrong with the targets we are supposedly getting - and they are an improvement on what is the base of a very good team already. I do think though that it is clear the fullbacks need improving, and im surprised nothing has been done about it

Folan took Hull up as their TARGET MAN......he's not prolific (whoever was tryin to prove that pint your right) BUY Thats not his game, he'll provide for Simpson, create problems and give us Muscle up front.

Who do you want? Owen? Pavlyuchenko? Nugent? GET REAL!!!!!

These 2, Faye and ****tu are all V Good players at this level, and if we sign them then Great. Stop moaning about GP making the deasls, the players will fit Hart's criteria and he'll use them wisely.
Agree he MUST leave Simpson up front.......but please don't #### off good signings like these, it makes you sound like idiotic teenagers!

I hope either Folan or Cousin will provide for Simpson rather than play as a lone stiker or even pair them up at the latter's expense.

But yes, you are right, Folan did help Hull win promotion and Cousin, Faye & $hittu are all good enough for a top 6 CCC side.

I am disappointed though that no full backs seem to be linked with QPR. I guess this means continuing with the slow Borrowdale at LB and the even slower, Ramage (a centre back) at RB. That for me isn't good enough, especially when Shorey is available and Forest are chasing Bale.

Cliff - agree with many points, but for goodness sake, can people stop telling people what they are allowed to think. If people don't think Folan is any good, post discuss and debate.Last time i looked we were not in communist China FFS.If people want to discuss whether they think GP is fit enough to weara QPR shirt...debate away - otherwise all this is, is an #### licking competition.

Good to finally see some nice positive posts on here for a change.

Most fans I know were of the opinion at the start of the season, that we had one of the better squads in the league, most certainly good enough for a top 6 finish at the very least.

I know that there have been some problems both on and off the field lately to add to the injuries to some of our more influential players, but I cannot see how, if the proposed additions of Cousins, Folan, Ikeme and ****tu do all come off, that it would not be classed as improving the squad by a considerable way.

We will have proper competition for a keeper who is going through a pretty bad spell, a big strong and quick option at centre back along with two strikers who whilst may be not be up to some peoples expectations, are technically better than what we currently have to assist Simpson and have at least been major players for successful sides in the past.

Surely, even those who always find something to moan about, can see that improving a squad that has so far been guilty of gross underachievement despite still being 10th and with 20 or so more games to play, should be regarded as at least a step in the right direction. I get as frustrated as everybody else when I have to suffer the performances we have put in over the last couple of months, probably due to seeing some of the fantastic football that we are capable of earlier, but what I cannot accept is the view that our season is over. I agree that we have made it more difficult for ourselves than we needed to, but the standard of the majority of teams in this division is so poor, that we still have an exceptionally good chance of getting into a play off spot come the end of the season.

On the matter of them being loans, I personally think that these days when so many players are paid so much more than they are worth, the option to "Try before you buy", is the most sensible way forward as it reduces our long term commitments going forward should things not work out for all parties as well as had been hoped. I do not think that after their initial delight, that many of us would have been happy for the likes of Watson to be on a 3-4 year contract, whilst underperforming to the degree that he did, having used up a couple of million pounds worth of budget that could be used elsewhere. It also gives us the opportunity to get by whilst our injured players, and let's face it, how many Championship teams would not find a place for a fully functioning Rowlands, Cook, Mahon etc., are up and running again.

Very good, realistic improvements under the current circumstances I feel. And for those that wanted us to splash out millions at this stage, I would suggest that if we had, all we would have been hearing from these individuals is how much debt we are incurring despite an unwillingness on their part to help fund it all.

I couldn't agree more with this post. We need to be realistic. This really is turning into a doom and gloom MB!

You are wrong because Cousin wasn't even at the club when they were promoted

Folan did score 8 goals in 29 appearances though at a goal every 214 minutes that season which is a decent record but he played only 1713 minutes out 4140 (just over 40%) so not a massive contribution to the team but an important one.
