Don't dis my Nygaard, i allways rated him :greedy:
    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

good player what i have seen of him, just what we need. just shame he will prob be our major signing this window as cant see any indication from anyone that the board are gonna actually BUY a player of any note!

Certainly a big improvement on all our strikers bar Simpson and probably Helguson as well. Think he cd complement Simpson v nicely. Better than Caleb Folan and streets ahead of Webber. But where, unusually, I find myself disagreeing with Sir Pie is this: its not enough to say he is an improvement, therefore we should sign him. You need to think strategically. What are we trying to achieve this season? Is it still promotion? If so, is he really going to provide sufficient goals? If, by contrast, the aim is now consolidation, was there much point signing anyone on loan?
I'm not knocking the signing because its a lot better than I feared but if this is the only quality striker we sign in this transfer window I think it sends out a slightly confused message about our ambitions. To me it probably says we still want promotion, but we are exceptionally cautious about spending the money to achieve it. Anyway, onwards and upwards, I'll be cheering him on...

Before I agree with that... this fella looks like he COULD be useful, so not knocking him.

But that is an interesting question. We do seem to pick up other clubs rejects, rather than take a player who is part of a first team set up, even from lower leagues.

Can't/wont pay transfer fees, I suppose.

Everyone has been crying out for a big man upfront and Cousin fits the bill well.

I think he could do well for us. Even if he's not a prolific goalscorer he could be the type of player who will bring others into the game. Chances are we'll see Simpson get a lot more goals playing alongside a player who can hold the ball up.

Yep Heskey dont score but I bet everyone would be jumping around doing cartwheels if we signed him....He will be a target man and do the donkey work for Jay Simpson and hopefully chip in with a handfull of goals.
