  • Bates will take £2m for Beckford.

Probably old news but according to Ceefax,Bates will take £2m for Beckford but Newcastle will bid £3m to fight off Middlesboro.Shame Briatore hasn't shown the same commitment to prove us doubters wrong.Pallidini is as bad - remember him asking me for £4m to buy Beckford when I quizzed him at Wycombe - a statement which he has since denied.Gun and head comes to mind. There all bl**dy wasters as far as I am concerned !!!!

I seriously rate Beckford, some don't - but I think he'd be very good in this league.

But to pay £2/3m for a third division player, who's out of contract in May would be pushing even my boundaries of what I'd expect QPR to pay for a player.

I think we offered 2.5m plus 3 players in the summer.

Think Pellicori might have already gone.

i don't see why beckford would decide to join us even if we did put the money down to be honest, unless he really misses london that much. (which in itself wouldn't be a promising sign.) if we were on course for automatic promotion it might be a different story but as it stands it's leeds, newcastle, or a lower-table prem team.

It doesn't matter if he'd take £2m as we wouldn't get him even if we wanted him and bid that much....which we wouldn't.

Do you honestly think if he had the choice of playing for Prem bound Newcastle in front of 50k every home game on massive money, he would turn that down to play at Flavioland in front of small crowds where the most popular theme ride is the Manager Merrigoround.....

                Can't see it really.

That's about the sum of it.

think pellicori might push the price up rather than down...

And Leeds and QPR will almost certainly be playing in the same division next season i.e. CCC.

I will also put Leeds up as amongst the clear favourites to go up next season too.

Grayson is a good manager, Leeds have a terrific fan base and will easily attract 40,000 if near the top of the CCC.

I don't see why Beckford would want to join QPR unless he wants a return to London for family reasons (which I doubt).

Beckford gives the impression of mercenary. And for that, the Both Tynesiders are favourites.
