I know Mittal only owns 20%, but flippin heck if their as interested in this "project" as much as they made out in the beginning would it be such a crime for them to spend 10mil on some top notch players, once were in the prem he gets a higher stake to repay him some of his cash, everyones a winner, alla du plat as the french say...
And before anyone says well why should they!? Well if you think they entered this business and didnt think they would have to maybe spend some of their cash then you need your head checking.
Oh and anyone who responds well if it was your cash would you throw it away!?Hardly throwing it away! Getting us up is in the long run a investment. Hardly throwing it away!
Sie Les, the point being we could compare like for like.
they spent on players, so have we
They had c.rap players..so do we.
All in all it took Fulham 4 years to get into the premiership under Al Fayed. Almost ten years on they are established premiership side. I am sure they had ups and downs along the way, just like us.
Whose to say in 5 years time, we are not in a similar boat. Some want success immediately and that does not always happen. I'm sure Notts County expect to be top this season, they are not. leeds fans hated Ken Bates at first, its taken them ages to get out of League 1, reality is nothing is ever acheived in a relative short time like 2 years, which is roughly where we are. Sometimes, I think we expect miracles
Again, it isn't that the fans suddenly woke up one day expecting miracles without good reason.
Flav was the one spouting about Champions League in 4 years
Ticket price increases of 50% were marketed on the basis of an improved and exciting product.
Of course, the board could say "Sorry, this is all taking a bit longer to sort out than we expected, bear with us". The problem being when the fans then reply "Of course, no problem, just reel in the ticket prices in line with the reduced expectations and we'll be patient."
Quaz, think this board is made up of personal opinions.
Thats what they are, the moment I start saying your opinions is based on what pkloft has to say, it wouldn't make sense would it?
If you look at my posts on here, I am not defending any individual, just expressing a view promotions take time and comparative to our crowds, you'll find money is being invested, but they are not splashing the cash for the sake of it
my opinion has nothing to do with anybody else.....just seems funny you ignore facts....you said it took 4 years...but ignore the fact it was 2 promotions in those 4 years.....
as for pkloft.....i am on every night he isn't so do i wait for him to come on before i post.....jesus your arguements are weak to say the least.
think we wd be patient if we cd at least see progress. but when we actually start going backwards, its harder. But I bet you will now tell us Fulham had 10 hopeless managers in three years, failed to buy a proper striker in two years, etc etc

and i and many others agreed with you that investing to go up purely as a business model rarely works, football tends to be a vanity project. but it being the case that the owners are not going to put sufficient funds into the club to get us up can you - for a final time - explain how you think we might possibly gain promotion?
Right had to Wiki this because believe it or not I know F All about Fulham.....
Fayed bought the club bought in Keegan (happens all the time with new owners)
Keegan leaves for England (How that is Fayed fault you tell me)
Employs Bracewell doesnt work sacks him (fair enough)
Employs Tigana till 2003 (who left of his own accord if I remember rightly)
Employs Coleman
All in all dont think Fayed did to much wrong..... now look at out record...
“You can keep that silly fat w@nker. The lads can't lift him”
