Nottingham Forest 20,000 supporters paying £25 a ticket= £500,000 turnover each home game= 11.5 Million Pounds revenue on home games

QPR 13,000 supporters payng £25 a ticket = £325,00 turnover per game equates to 7.4 million revenue on home games

Okay you can wrap in season ticket prices, but thats the average cost per game. You could argue that clubs have cheaper and more expensive seats, but this is just used an example, as whatever calculation you do its going to be more for the bigger clubs

In the championship, how can we compete with the above teams in terms of players wages and big signings?? I hear and read concerns that we are building up a debt, which no doubt is true, but surely with the squad we have, we are living beyond our means, as in reality in the real world without the investment, we would be struggling between the championship and Division 1 and not attracting the better type player.

Lets say our players average 10k a week (an average say) and based across 22 players, thats £220,000 per week spread across 52 weeks equates to 11.4 million pounds alone in wages.

As you can see the its a deficit already and I'm just using a VERY simplified mathematical tool to put the point across, as so many things should be added.

I make the point, because some seem convinced we should be spending more??
        Well well.

So what happens IF we get promoted to the Prem?

We'll have the lowest ticket revenue by a mile. I'll put your question back to you:

How can we compete with the other Prem teams in terms of players wages and big signings??

Whilst we are comparing it to Fulham, it took Fayed 4 years to get Fulahm in the premiership, they almost had ground sold to property developers before he took over.

As for signings, I'm sure Routledge, Hall, Buzsacky, Connolly, Gorkss, Hogan, Ageymang, Vine Cost something??

                    Bernies banrt, no way

When we/if we get promoted the crowds will increase to around 20,000 easy and if they expanded the ground 25,000.

Again comparing it to Fulham, when Al Fayed first took over they never got pass 6,000 supporters every week. We are already starting from a higher fan base.

Similar to Wigan who used to get 4,000 fans and it took Whelan 15 years top get them into the premiership

So what you're saying is that as we're in a higher division than fulham were and with a bigger fanbase we should get promoted a lot quicker than the 4 years it took them to go 2 divisions?

I'm not reading another one of these threads all the way through again but lets deal in facts Pete.

They signed Chris Coleman for 2 million in 1997 when they were in Division 2 and led the team to promotion with Keegan as manager. That year they also signed Peschisolido for over a million whilst still in Division 2

They signed Lous Saha for over 2 million in 2000 when they were in the same league as us. He scored 27 goals and got them up.

Where do you get your 'facts' from?

In theory then, progression should/should of been quicker.

                            4 years maybe...but 2 promotions.

                                4 years from league 1 !

I reckon the players you mention above probably cost 5 million

Pete do you not think that the stupid price rises has alot to do with the resentment from the fans ?
