That doesnt make us a division one club playing in the chanpionship does it, only 3 years in the last 41 that is a FACT and one of the few posted here in the last few days.
Bottom line is mistakes have been made, expensive mistakes and we cant afford any more of them can weits New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks

QPR 13,000 supporters payng £25 a ticket = £325,00 turnover per game equates to 7.4 million revenue on home games
Okay you can wrap in season ticket prices, but thats the average cost per game. You could argue that clubs have cheaper and more expensive seats, but this is just used an example, as whatever calculation you do its going to be more for the bigger clubs
In the championship, how can we compete with the above teams in terms of players wages and big signings?? I hear and read concerns that we are building up a debt, which no doubt is true, but surely with the squad we have, we are living beyond our means, as in reality in the real world without the investment, we would be struggling between the championship and Division 1 and not attracting the better type player.
Lets say our players average 10k a week (an average say) and based across 22 players, thats £220,000 per week spread across 52 weeks equates to 11.4 million pounds alone in wages.
As you can see the its a deficit already and I'm just using a VERY simplified mathematical tool to put the point across, as so many things should be added.
I make the point, because some seem convinced we should be spending more??
The football business is no longer viable if you are relying on income at the gates. FACT.
The only way that clubs make money or survive in some cases is from the TV money.
Both of which in our specific case are irrelevant as our owners are absolutely, unbelievable, stinking filthy rich, so rich that we cannot even imagine that much money. Abramovich is one of the most wealthy men in the world and our owners/major shareholders are 5 times more wealthy than him.
For 10% of the interest they make on that money per year would be enough to buy a side that could compete well in the Champions League.
The frustration from the fans side is that they have not splashed out a penny for the club. All this messing around, temporary loan, you pay half we pay half is a disgrace and a shambles. If we were skint then I'd back this approach 100% and agree that is what we have to do. But we are not.
Because of this massive lack in investment it surrounds the club in a big cloud of mystery, why on earth have they invested in QPR? I could understand if they had gone for it and splashed out showing off, but surely they are making themselves look ridiculous amongst their friends. Yes we are worth billions but we wouldn't want a successful club now would we.
Money laundering seems to be the only plausible reason for them being involved. Would explain why GP is involved, would explain the gun incident, would explain the multi million pay-offs for the managers etc etc:drunk:

deal with lotto = at least 250k a year
Gulf air = at least 400k a year
Corporate = at least 900k a year
food and drink = at least 500k a year
Programme sales = at least 100 k a year
Money from other sponsors=at least 300 k a year
TV money = at least 350k a year
theres another 2.5 million.
Money from just the chelsea match=at least 275k
Stoke, wigan, burnley, hull, Birmingham and pompey all got up there with crowds of no more than average 17000 in the championship so no real argument pete..OH hang on they had money men worth about 30 million max while we have 2 worth together 3 billion and that excludes mittall with a wealth of at worst time in 2009 14 billion....what is GP worth ???? minus 250 k isnt it......Last edited by qprsouth; 04-01-2010, 11:46 PM.

Conners and QBP - you two are something else.
Like Aussies constantly moaning about Brits being "Whinging Poms" - you are constantly moaning about the fans "moaning".
I think all this bottom-ache stems from the complete lack of visibility as to the strategy.
When did we last hear publicly from ANYONE on the board. Even a quote - a line of spin not fed-through their publicity machine? Months.
Why? Communicate and you might bring us all along.
Where are we really aiming?
How are we really going to do it?
Without communication you have to expect questions when it goes a bit "belly-up" surely?
Stop accusing us of all being spoilt brats when all we are doing is trying to fill-in the many thousands of blanks currently surrounding QPR FC.

this thread has given me the right ump. Pete u know i like u but u only answer questions u can spin a line 2. theres about 100 superb points put across on ere but youve swerved em the same way that todd carty does an ice rink. If your gonna give an opinion then do it on every thing that is put to you, not just the ones you can give a horse-p155 answer to. You say that we cant afford to buy the best, well stop paying champagne wages to brown-ale players. that would be a start. Then get in a young and ambitious manager ( ie ferguson) let em do their job, and back them 100%. AND GIVE THEM TIME. GIVE THEM 2 YEARS AND TELL EM SO. GIVE EM SOME GUARANTEES SO THEY KNOW AND THE PLAYERS KNOW AND THE FANS KNOW WE HAVE STABILITY. You gotta let em buy THEIR own players. And also the first thing that should be done is millions need to be spent on youth. Might take time but the rewards would be more than worth it.
