4-4-2, and long ball football. This is a mistake, we do not have the players to play the long ball game, it's too rigid a system, with players in set positions moving up and down in formation. Agy and Simpson cannot hold the ball up, they are best suited to balls played for them to run onto from midfield and not hoofed up from the back with their backs to goal. I know some people don't like playing one up front but we played our best football with this system with players joining Simpson from midfield. We should go back to playing with a holding mid-fielder. This will free up our attacking players and give them more freedom to move about the pitch, interchanging with each other and play the passing football we played under Magilton............... The end.
