Quaz, like it. Building a platform??

The platform had been built before by De canio, then bettered by Dowie. What platform did he have to build?? He had a team on the up and bottled it. Those are the facts, just you cannot see it.

Great to see we never conceded, but we never scored many either. When you drop your best goalscorer, its the beginning of the end and you cannot defend the way we played at Doncaster, Southampton and Barnsley and the home games against Ipswich and Norwich. A few more, but I have forgotten them.

he sorted the defence...next step would have been the midfield given the chance......the platform was the defence....always start with that and work forward......

hold on a minute, don't lets try and win brownie points here

De Canio.. Loved the guy, thought we played attractive football. Sorry to see him go.

Dowie..Was Building a team, too much outside influence and could not manage how he wanted. Should never have got rid of him and that problem was purely a Flavio/Dowie clash. You only have one winner. Did not defend the club decision.

Sousa..Most boring, tedious football I have ever witnessed.. Wanted him to leave after abysmal results and made my feeling clear. the club let him go. Completely agree with that one.

magilton.. Watched some of the best football, I've seen for years and a really nice fella in Gorman as his number 2. Club made a wrong decision, in my view and NOT defended them, though if he did head-butt he has to go.

HART.. Two games, not been impressed at all, but he must be given to end of season.

So in effect, only agreed with ONE decision the board made. So hardly defending the club at every opportunity, is it??

Quaz, what platform was he building. It had already been built for him by Dowie.

By memory, Dowie was how many points off the play offs, when he took charge?? What platform?

Take the bull by the horns and go and win games. The problem was he was trying not lose them, thats the difference.

do me a favour...dowie had a track record of starting well then dropping like a sack of cement......the platform for a good team is the defence........better they are the less goals need scoring to win.......we are not good enough to score 3 or 4 every game.....with the defence as it is thats what we will have to do....

You have just mentioned 5 managers and that forgetting the inbetweeners-thats the problem especially in your last comment Pete....Hart has had 3 games but none are his players.

Look at Boro - sacked Southgate when 2nd and now they are below us.

The only team that appears to have had the balls to stick with their manager through a torrid time is Ipswich.Bets on them being in the mix at the end.

It's pretty simple...whether its Decanio-Dowie-Sousa(who is doing ok at moment)- Jim -Hart or Stephanie Powers - the board and the fans must give them some time to build a team.

The trouble we have - is that we, as fans, are now getting restless due to too many appointments and unless we get a manager that that gets 10 straughts wins - he is doomed.

The club needs to draw aline - admit it has fudged up and start again....but i fear we are on this merry go round for some time now

as i have said on other threads and i dont post too often the club is going backwards....

and surely this is a worry and something that needs to be sorted....

                    do the owners want out?

You tend not to be able to argue with those.

Even Alan Mullery had a better win ratio...

Just for the record, games won

                      Dowie 53.3
                      Magilton 37.5
                      De Canio 34.3

Sousa, the one everyone some crave about, not because of his record, but it suits an agenda a whopping

                      26.9%:cry::shame:
I try not to look at stats as none of them managers completed a whole season, to get a fair reflection, a whole season should be a minimum marker post to gain these statistics.

It would be like saying Paul Harts win ratio after saturday was 50%, our most successful manager of ALL TIME, until monday, then he was one of our worst.

Dress it up how you want, stats like that don't mean anything Pete

                        Sorry??

Under Dowie we only conceded 12 goals and were one point off the play offs. Should never have got rid of him.

All this about Sousa building a team from the back, is just a smokescreen for all his defenders and to be honest he had many, not only on the pitch.
