  • My Take On The Game

Got in the game 25 minutes late.

Outside sounded like a morgue and you would never know a game was on

Told I had not missed anything

Then saw two well worked goals, Simpson playing in his rightful position and Legiterwood showing he deserved an extension to his contract, despite some fans not realising what an asset he is in the team.

Mingled at half-time, saying 2-0 up and you know whats going to happen

    Second half it did, 2-1.

Ageymang plays as striker and Simpson goes out to the left wing after Faurlin gets substituted, like having 10 men, because Simpson is a striker!! The MANAGER installed the panic by bringing on 2 defenders for two attack minded players after about 82 minutes. Now, the best way to jeopardise a win is to play players out of positions and cause nervousness, which he did. Its okay saying we had not won a game in 6 or 7, but these players were going too deep before the substituions, and by bringing extra defenders on we went even deeper.

Okay, we won the game and its 3 points. The crowd were not booing the players, they were booing the mangerial tactics and I dread to think what would have happened if it had been 2-2 at the final whistle. Fans want victory and to be entertained and I'm all for holing onto leads, but this was extreme, Borrowdale a left winger, Connolly in midfield?? Yes, it was not pretty but the game was played like we were fighting relegation and not going for the play offs and thats the big worry for the future.

Agree with what you said on this one. Apart from the first goal was not well worked, we messed up a short corner and got the lucky bounce.

Thought the booing was pathetic...we were getting bombarded, couldn't string a pass together & looked like we could concede at anytime late on which we are experts at so he brings on 2 defenders to shore things up and people boo??? Is it not about getting the 3 points then bk on the training ground sort it out? No Rangers fans want another goal in the last 8 mins!! Some people aint got a clue about football i'm afraid..yes we all want flowing beautiful football but at the end of the day protecting a fragile lead in the dying mins is tactically brilliant...sort it out some of you...seriously

no the whole reason we were getting bombarded was hart overreacting to maynard's wonder strike and telling everyone to batten down the hatches. obviously no one's saying we should have gone all out attack to get a third but it's a question of balance and like pete says hart's response was extreme.

we were lucky to get the two goals and we were lucky to see the game out: at the end of the day you and hart can say yeah 3 points, stopped the rot, but has anyone so far seen anything to suggest there'll be better times ahead?

Guys, we have Paul Hart as manager, what did you expect? His CV & History speaks for itself. IMO I think if we can finish mid table and then start again in the summer that would be a good achievement this season considering what we've been through.

              harts tactics were spot on.

if we would have kept the same shape the defense would have been over run. they had about four forwards on. all we had to do was shut up shop which we did.

it was a good three points after our recent run

i dont often agree with Pete, but he is spot on here,we DID play like a desperate team needing to win our last game to avoid relagation. At 2-0 up,i was still convinced it would be a 2-2 draw, and even if it had ended that way it still would have been a fortunate point. We were extremly lucky to win that game, did not deserve it,and if we play the same against Ipswich we will lose.

maybe the other numpties realise that you don't boo your manager after two games

OK it was 2 substitutions that alot on here thought were wrong, but as I see it his options were limited, i thought taking off faurlin for agyemang and moving simpson to the left was was a mistake, should have been 1 for 1 agyemang for simpson, the connolly, borrowdale subs made sense, connolly sat in front of back four to protect them(which he did 2/3 times) and borrowdale is left sided so could slot in front of williams or behind if williams goes on a run, something he did to great effect a few times , people have short memories (WBA) , Give Hart/Harford a chance, im 100% certain we will get to the play-offs and me for 1 couldnt give a damn about being entertained to get there.
