would'nt surprise me one bit that thats the type of player we are in for,no ambition throuout the club & we will be lucky to finish mid-table with the amount of rubbish we have.

Pat and Vine will be delighted, another very average striker joining the team, lets hope this is just paper talk, surely we need to be looking at better than league 2 players

Why? If there's a prespective Les Ferdinand or Trevor Sinclair type down there, should we just ignore them and get Premier League reserves?

Because Kieran Lee, Ben Watson, Liam Miller and Steven Reid have been brilliant value, haven't they?

Which club have you been watching over the years? We've bought from the lower leagues throughout our history..
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are...

                well

well if we keep buying players we must one day get a good one on the law of
averages ,looking at his wikipedia he seems as though hes a bit like les ferdinand, whereby hes a late developer,so who knows, after all we did sign one good striker in dexter blackstock,so maybe this kid can do it

                      Good post.
                      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Dexter get you're #### down Loftus road and support the lads.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

You make a fair point, and if the lower league players cost very little, then its worth the gamble. Les was 10-15K was he not? Sinclair, i seem to remember the 200-250K price although i may be wrong.

The problem lies when the fee paid is 1 million plus and a juicy 4 year contract is thrown in.

Difference is, or at least the difference should be, that we are now owned by billionaires. If they really have any real intention of turning us into a stable premiership team with european aspirations, we need to be looking at better players than average league 2 players that i've never heard of.

The game has changed and they're arent any Sir Les' or Ian Wrights still playing Sunday league football waiting to be picked up by big clubs.
