  • A little bit on Tommy Smith

One of his best seasons by far was the 2008-09 season, where he scored 17 league goals and made 9 assists. In doing so he was statistically named the Championship's top midfielder and was overall ranked second in the list of top 100 footballers in the football League. In addition, as well as finishing as the clubs top scorer, he was named player of the season for the second year running, as Watford finished 13th.

Smith also made his 300th appearance for Watford in the penultimate game of the season, a 3-2 win away to Coventry City. Smith started the 2009-10 season in similar form, and was involved in all of Watford's first seven league goals, scoring two and assisting the other five. This was despite ongoing transfer speculation linking Smith with Reading, managed by former Watford manager Brendan Rodgers, as well as several other Premier League and Championship clubs.

He is a quality player who maybe isn't good enough for the Premiership but whilst we are a Championship club it does not matter one little bit if he can play at a higher level.

He scores, creates and leads. Although Taraabt is great to watch that is 3 things that he has lacked this season. In fact Smith created more in August for Watford than Taraabt has done all season.

Does he really want to play with Fitz hall?

Agreed, Smith would be a good addition to the team, especially if the rumours about Taarabt leaving in Jan are true.
