we have two of the best wingers in this league

buy smith and we will have simpson who can't be bigger than 5' 10 and smith who is 5' 8.

we need a goalscorer and if possible a big man up front (if we can combine the two great)

blackstock would have loved playing in this team. we saw how well he did when cook was getting balls in.

Firstly Simpson isn’t our player, he is Arsenals, so not much to rely on there. I agree about a fox in the box though. In addition to Smith I would find a natural goal scorer too. Obviously Beckford would be ideal or someone like him, maybe Jackson would be a worthwhile signing? I totally disagree that you need a big man. Hoofing long balls then yes. Hopefully we will never do that and it is more of the Kevin Phillips type forward we need in my opinion.

I would love to know the real reason why Blackstock went. It seems crazy now.

a big man doesn't mean hoof ball. it means we might have a chance when we have a corner. at the moment these are no good to us. it also means that we can get more balls in the box instead of trying to walk it in.

however the reality is we will get just one forward in. i cant see them bringing in more than one. i hope i am wrong

I thought centre halves came up for corners? I dont see Arsenal having a problem scoring from set pieces.

our players are not at the same level as arsenal. arsenal can pass teams to death. often they play it short

arsenal also have a striker that is 6ft 4 and another thats 6ft 2. these can actually win balls in the air.

our center backs are marked by the opposing teams center backs. we hardly ever look like scoring from corners.

countless times this season we get crosses in and it is one by the defense. partly because there is only usually one person in there and partly because that one person is 5ft 10. how can he compete with 6ft 5 defenders?

look back at blackstocks goals for us and count how many came from headers and how many were on the floor. thats the benifit of a taller striker.

Don't know about Smith.. i've heard hes good but never seen him.

I watched Wycombe v Stockport in the play-offs a few years ago,
Russel Martin and Williamson looked real good
              Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
              And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Whether or not Smith and Williamson are good enough for the PL is immaterial. QPR are a mid-table CCC side and need good players to win promotion from this league. I believe that they sound like players good enough to help QPR win promotion.

I don't buy into the comment that QPR have two great wingers and need a big striker. How many good high crosses do Taarabt and Routledge put into the box?

From what I have seen, they both like to get into the box and either shoot or pick out a player with a low cross. No need for a tall striker, just one that can finish from around 12 yards.

No. You said the other day that gianni bought in faurlin, so don't now try and make out its any different.

Lets see if Heaton still turns up in jan

If I'm reading this right SOME people on here actually would rather watch Tommy Smith play football INSTEAD of Adel? If you had said he'd be included alongside the Moroccan Magician then I would've possibly gone along with it but INSTEAD of - sheer, unadulterated, madness of the highest order.

Once upon a Wegerle-Time there were a bunch of supporters from W12 bred on Marsh and Bowles who knew their Trevor Sinclairs from their Franks.
Seems that time is fast fading.

I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

For me the biggest difference between Wegerle and Taraabt is the end product. I'm not one of those fans who demands Premiership football. In fact I think the Championship is the best league to watch. I'm not bothered about promotion I would just like to watch our team win more than they lose or draw. I would like to walk away from Loftus Road entertained and not frustrated. Wegerle was an entertainer whereas I find Taraabt frustrating due to his lack of end product. How many times in 21 matches has he made that killer pass or scored for that matter.

Our own official website will tell you that he has had 61 shots so far this season. We all know he is a show pony who will attempt to take on the whole opposition single handedly rather than pass which more often than not results in giving the ball away. Once he's done that, he makes no attempt to win it back.

His return for all that, is 4 goals and 1 assist.

That is not good enough and its not what we need if we are seriously trying to get into the playoffs.

Both Watford and Pompey are cash strapped, rumour is that Pompey haven't paid Watford for them and can't afford to. So probably be able to get them on the cheap.
