  • Fans - Board meeting we need one Pete can you arrange

The goings on at rangers are an absolute joke. No one from the board has said a word, we get rumors of Curbs coming in the future either seeded by his agent or another smoke screen by the board to keep us stum for another 6 months, if Rangers wanted Curbs so badly they could have done a deal with west Ham who are desperate for cash at the moment. Really confused what the agenda of our board is, are they screwing the club to sell off the assets who knows they need to explain their position and their new vision post Flav's 4 year plan. Pete can you not use your influence to arrange a Fans - Board meeting to let them know how we feel.

Why does everyone think Pete has a say in these things? This is exactly the reason he got the blame for the whole Sousa thing. He know's Gianni personally, but other fans I know are far friendlier with him. Pete is just a fan and has no say whatsoever in transfers, match prices, manager appointments/firings or getting meetings arranged.

Flav wouldn't give us the time of day.

I agree mate,I reckon we should boycott some games or hold a protest outside the ground on Boxing Day.

          WTF???

A protest - that is the LAST THING the club needs right now.

The board do not have to explain everything to us. We are not bottom of the league. We have finincial stability and a bright future.

          You lot are miserable whingers.

Every six months this protest/boycott idea comes up. It's not happened yet, and I doubt it ever will. As much as we should voice our concern, boycotting and protesting is only going to add to the negativity and will no doubt cause the players more worry and effect their performances all the more. I'm sure the players are just as concerend as us regarding the management issues and the board interference. They have no idea where they stand and keep having things changed every 6 months.

We need to support the players more than ever.

            Just my opinion, of course.

I dont undersatand what you are trying to acheive? There are far worse clubs to be supporting right now.

Moaning is fine. We have messageboards for that, and I do think they can filter to the clubs. There was a statement on the offy recently denying reports that were being circulated elsewhere and I am sure they were referring to messageboard rumours at the time.

There is also the the fact that bad performances get booed occasionally. You can sing and shout at the game to air your views (though I think that can be bad for the club too).

                But protests don't help imo.

/waits for the usual response about where we would be today without a protest etc..

I think the basic problem here is that the club doesn't give a stuff about us.
Sometimes they make the right noises about how wonderful the fans are etc. etc., but it's all just paying lip-service to us -- humouring us like we're a bunch of brainless hanger-onners.
Holding protests are a pointless waste of time and energy and the days of fans meeting with the board are probably now just a distant memory of past times.

                          Why post it then?

When you've answered your own question and shown that protests DO help.

                          Very odd.

I get the distinct impression we have to sort our own groups first. Thats not a slant on them, but various groups are splintered into having different priorities and thats leads to lack of unity of the field as well.

Last season the club held a meeting regularly around every 2 months and in the end we had 15 people going from all groups and messageboards and it was a free for all. I know the club have stopped doing them this year, because it was becoming an issue trying to deal with various groups. The club tried to promote the OSC which with all due respect has not worked.

In the modern day world of football, it needs 2-3 figureheads to be voted in from the various group and they go to the club with an agenda and focus on it. The messageboards should be to convey that message to the fans. Thats my view anyway. We have a number of supporters who feel very stongly they should be involved with the day to day business of how the club is being run, Speaking to Ali Russell I got the distinct impression rightly or wrongly (and I am opposed to the class banding we have in gold, silver and bronze), that it was more about his character and people giving tips on how he should do his job. He is judged by his superiors and I felt the fans telling him how it should be done, he didn't take too kindly.

I have noticed a quietness about Amit this season. I know he has business obligations away from the football club, but guessing he felt it was becoming to wrapped up with supporters views and not being able to focus on the business side. He is very approachable and in the end, he was far easier to talk to than anyone else and maybe he has taken a step back from that? Who knows, but at board level you can tell things have been said and done, to shy away from any further group meetings. Guess the ball is the supporters groups to get an organised small team to meet the club regularly.

I could probably organise a fans forum, but who would the fans like present??
