why? so if inter made a bid in january he would leave? Do you mean he would like to go there or he has something in his contract that would let him go there?

If it is in his contract that he is to go to Inter then we have just been shafted.

Fact is Magilton went out to watch him with GP after about 2 months. The club in Argentina went into administration.

End of the day, its not defending anyone. The papers and official said it was 3.5 million, do you take that as fact?? I don't.

Just to iterate, so to get some balance.

Do I know GP scoutedthe player.. YES
Do I believe we paid 3.5 million for him..NO
Everything is fine with your post, apart from that one word.

Everyone knows, including you, that GP is not a "scout". He doesnt have the necessary qualifications to be one.

Seeing as we're discussing FACTS, I thought it best to clear that one up. And if you want to talk about facts, its always important to use the right terminology as I'm sure you would agree. It avoids a lot of unnecessary confusion, leading to MB flame wars.

Yes he may have "monitored" Faurlin, but "scouting" he certainly did not. As you say, the final decision was down to Magilton.

As I see it he is a very talented player. But could even be played behind the attackers.
Cannot understand why he is out of the team at the moment.

He's nowhere near good enough for Inter at the present time.

The thing is, if Palladini is choosing players, then sacking managers on the result of these choices, that's wrong. It would be nice to know what Palladini's actual role is.

Pete. I'm sure you posted on here saying Faurlin was scouted by Madge and Gorman after he was on their radar at Ipswich in defence of the signings again being made with zero managerial input.

Does GP want credit now or were we lied to before?

I've posted previously on this topic.

if faurlin was a flop pete would have said GP had nothing to do with the signing and the manager has full control etc

Pete-will you EVER say anything realistic about our saviour Lord Paladini?

he hasnt got a role..its his club, or at least he thinks it is. He saved us , and he is a god to us little people for doing it. How the fck can a serious manager work with him when every decision they make is vetted by an ex agent who has now found himself , much to his amazement, up there with the big boys. If you fall out with him then your days are numbered at the club. He has helped us in the past and because of him we now have some financial stability so fair play to him..but for fcks sake now is the time for him to move on so the club can move on.

If answering the phone to a contact is now scouting then maybe he did...

                                QPR sign Alejandro Faurlin
                                Jul 8 2009 London Informer

IT NEEDED a £500,000 compensation fee to Inter Milan to make sure Alejandro Faurlin joined QPR on Tuesday for a record £3.5million.

The Serie A side has a pre-contract arrangement with the 22-year-old playmaker, (right), a star in his country's U17 World Cup team of 2003.

The Italians first recognised they had a potential gem on their hands after spotting the name Faurlin when he racked up six goals against six different Primera Division teams for his club, Instituto AC Cordoba.

Inter stepped aside when they admitted they couldn't guarantee Faurlin first-team football - but wanted the pay-off to allow him to join Rangers instead.

Boss Jim Magilton has been running the rule over Faurlin in training before taking the plunge because he desperately wanted someone to supply Rangers' wingers and forwards with inch-perfect passes.

"I had opportunities to play in Spain, Italy and Greece, but QPR was my choice and I'm delighted to be here," Faurlin said.

"I was really impressed with the set-up and the ambition of the club and can't wait to make my debut."

Magilton added: "We've had a good look at him and I believe he will be a valuable addition to the squad.

"He's a likeable young lad who plays with a smile on his face, so we'll have no problems."

Rangers agreed a three-year deal for their new signing, whose fee eclipses the previous best, £2.7m shelled out for striker Mike Sheron in 1997 - a fee that netted Rs only 13 goals from the Stoke City striker in two seasons.
