Is having all this money a poison chalice?

i think naturally when you get money you become a big scalp and everyone expects alot from you.

but tbh the money is not our issue here. it is the board making the wrong decisions on who to appoint as manager (im not just talking about hart here). i think perhaps the money means everyone expects and when a manager fails to deliver he promptly gets the sack due to the expectations.

so in answer to your question, probably yes. but all other clubs with money seem to be able to do things right - why cant we?

id like to see us spend big in january and then see what we are made of we can tempt some decent prem players. as long as we are in and around the top 6 by jan.

Its not really the money as we have a good quality squad that could potentially win the league. It is more the case of the board not really understanding football and hiring and firing every manager ever 5 months.....

When you think of it, two years ago (or last year at least) we could had got any manger we wanted that could had really build a top side to challenge for promotion...

foolham done it the correct way, they got in a big name manager, signed some decent players and bobs your uncle they are now an established side in the premiership

It isn't a poison chalice if the mone is spent wisely (see Chelsea).

QPR have never really appointed the right manager and allowed him to spend or the time to achieve results.

LDC was a decent manager, but left or personal reasons.

Dowie, might have done well had he been allowed to make his own signings. i.e Phillips, Watson and not Di Carmine and Parejo.

Sousa might also have made a bigger impact had he been allowed to sign a forward of his choice rather than Helguson.

QPR's Board have money and perhaps if they allow Hart to choose his own signings, he can improve results on a consistant basis.

Man City have spent big money, but I really don't think that Hughes is the right man for the job. If Mourinho gets the job there next season, they will achieve more.

Simple really, whether the money's being spent how we want it or not, we have sufficient financial backing to make us secure (the big proviso being of course that our owners would be prepared to continue supporting the club).

I'd take our situation over Watford (and what I think will be that of many other clubs before long) any day of the week.
