Could it be simply Magilton's passion that ultimately led to his downfall rather than any physical attack? He was it seems, angry that players were not displaying the passion he felt. But when you're on the wrong end of too many #######ings it tends to rub you up the wrong way. Not many would stay in a job where that continually happened.
We all wish the players would always give 100%, but when your team selections (playing people out of position, picking the wrong defence) are questionable, you have to be able to take criticism without losing it. Doesn't seem like Jim could.
