I have just listened to Pete's interview with Gerry and when you go through it bit by bit, the guy has been successful nearly everywhere he has been.
He is still a relatively young guy, made some very good purchases over the years at all the clubs he played for etc.
Some will say he is past it but the guy is still actively involved with Stoke and if you look at the league table they are a very creditable mid table at this point in time.
I would be more than happy to have Gerry back in the fold. The guy is proven, still has the desire to be in football so I say go for him over some young unproven manager.
