  • Thoughts on Last Night

Gorkks - why doesn't he play every game? Such an accomplished Centre Back at this level. Stewart is still prone to the odd howler but I would say that these two definitely represent our best centre back pairing at the moment!

Routledge - Looked class for me. Defenders don't know what to do with him. We need to get him on the ball as much as possible.

Watson/Leigertwood - Excellent central midfield pairing. I know Legs has his critics but for me, when Rowlands and Mahon got injured it was an absolute no brainer moving him back into the midfield. Does a lot of the unseen work that Faurlin and Buzsacky are never going to do for you.

Adel Taarabt - This will split opinions but I have to be honest I see him as a luxury we cannot afford at the moment, especially when played through the middle. The guy doesn't tackle, rarely passes and gives the ball away far too frequently. Fair enough he is amazingly talented and can turn games but for me he is a passenger for the majority of the game. I'd like to see him used as a 2nd half sub if a game needs to be won but he would never be happy with that!

Tom Williams - Good performance at left back, much more accomplished footballer than Borrowdale.

Cerny - Is it just me or does he look a bit shaky at times this season?

Pellicori - Why, oh why, oh why, oh why?!!!!!!! Seriously, lets just release him!

All said and done, I was dissapointed to concede the late goal but I think there are far more positives than negatives to take from the performance.

Amazing how people can watch the same game and see completely different things.

    Gorkkss - Agree

Routledge..i thought did very little some of his choices of pass were very poor especially in the last 10 mins, one on the edge of our own area was suicidal! and long cross field balls when for once you wanted him to run down the same blind alley he had become so familiar with in the first half!

Tarabbt - has to play every minute of every game..i am absolutley certain he stays on we win the game, he frighten the opposition when he doesn't even have the ball, he goes off their holing midfielders are free from their shackles and low and behold they have way more space in midfield.

tom williams- better going forward but no way as good as borrowdale defensivly, turned his back for their first goal and let woods in behind him to head across

Cerny, agree doesn't fill you with confidence at the moment

Pellicori---agree bringing him on wba quickly worked out that one centre half could stop tie up his laces wave to the fans and still catch him up in a sprint race! aggy may not have been doing much but at least he was keeping 2 defenders busy!

All in all a good point!

Agree about the suicidal run from his own box from Routledge!

I was only watching it on Sky but at 90 mins they did show the board as 3 minutes added time to be played. So what happens at 93 mins, nothing WBA were attacking so the ref waits for their attack to finish in which they score at 93mins 11secs on the clock. i suppose that's alright then is it? Play until they score like Man Utd.

Subs coming on in injury time is a myth
The ref will stop his watch while this takes place. Those extra secs take into play the time it took us to get Fitz Hall on.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Good point about Taraabt. We conceded yesterday after he went off. We conceded against Plymouth after he went off. We conceded against Coventry after he went off. We conceded against Bristol City after he went off. Even the goal against Reading was after he went off. Swansea scored their 2nd once he was substituted.

That's 7 points dropped after he has gone off.

So yet again Fitz Hall had something to do with our result. Why can't somebody realise he's just a bad omen at the moment.

The Stewards were very heavy handed nazis last night. I got up to go for a slash and they told me to sit down or be ejected!!. WTF?? Failed traffic wardens or what? All the west brom fans were giving lurid gestures to us at the final whistle and they were only interested in what we were doing. MUGS.:shame:

For me Watson, Gorkss and Tarrabt were excellent last night.

Nobody else was exceptional although the work rate and ethic of most of the team was excellent.

Williams positional play is poor, many times he tucks in alongside centre halfs which turned SImpson into glorified left back, not great as he cannot tackle.

Ramage. By far the worst player in our squad. Say so every week yet nothing changes.

Thought that Aggy just wasn't trying. His biggest assest is pace and he looks 2 yards slower than normal. He is not trying simple as that.

                    There's some stats!

I like Adel but he don't tackle or pass but all that above is true. Amazing!

i can agree with some bits but i agree more with 3london about taarabt and routledge over tarbie (nothing personal just difference in opinion)

also felt watson was good on the ball just his pressing was absent... and cost us
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
                      Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

Williams tackled more last night than Borrowdale has the entire season. Neither are ideal but Williams is far better than missing in action Borrowdale, who turns his back on every single cross that goes in from the opposition.

Thought Routledge looks like a man who badly needs a rest. Oh for a decent forward...

Good to see Birch's reaction to the late equaliser - shame we ain't got a few more players with his passion in the current squad.

                          ............................Nice strike by Tarabt though
