But Portsmouth weren't a bottom of the league club when they let him go. Your point was that because a club has let someone go then they mustn't be any good but by saying that the only reason we can sign someone like Simpson is because he can't get in their team doesn't make him a bad player does it.

You may end up being right. He hasn't reached his full potential (bit like Routledge) because he gets ahead of himself far too quickly.
