ok you have opened a can of worms here neil and i suspect the usual anti GP bridage will be along soon to slate the guy

things that people forget is he remortage his own house to keep the club afloat, he was also responsible for bringing the new investment into the club

i will make no bones about it GP is a QPR legend and i couldn't care less what anyone else thinks unless its postive towards Gianni

ps - im not on the payroll i only say it as i see it

Top post had no idea he went to them lengths? GP is a legend and a pleasure to discuss.

To the 5 people who voted Responsible for our mess last decade.

        1. The club was in no mess before Gianni came to QPR and the mess started after he took over?

        2. I didn't see any of our life long fans put their houses on the line to save the club or maybe you did & we had no idea about it?

Whichever way you look at it, Gianni will always be a better man than you!

          2. Bill Power did on more than one occasion, GP did it to buy shares not save the club didn't he?

HA9 RANGER, I agree, he has done some good (and bad) things in the past, but that does not get him a job for life and why does his job have to be director of Football ? He would be better suited being the meet and greet face for the hospitality side.

Also, what does he actually do to justify his rather healthy annual income, as well as interest free loans ?

Absolutely tip top guy. Always personable, great cheerleader for the club with the supporters.

However - clearly not suited to the role of Director of Football and has presided over failure after failure after failure in his core role whilst costing the club hundreds of thousands of pounds in the interim.

Only the fat Spanish waiter rivals him for his Tefal qualities.

Totally agree with you Paul. I am not anti or pro as far as GP is concerned. I just do not really understand his importance now.

I am starting to understand how in many ways he has benefited the club and in many repects saved the club by finding investment. For this he will go down in club folklore no doubt and rightly so.

I think what bugs people like me on this board is the blind faith shown by so many and a refusal to question. In my opinion nobody in a position of power whoever they are should ever be above investigation. If he has been responsible for bringing the club into disrepute or a duff signing you cannot turn round and say thats fine because of all the good he has done?

I am not saying he has but some on here will not even entertain the idea. Why? Jim Gregory never got defended like GP and that's plain crazy.

Nothing against the guy, im sure he is just dandy.

I just dont agree with the DOF position he holds. Not many mangers worth their salt will come while he holds this position.

If you want to attract a decent manager to get this club moving forward, then he has to step aside, into a new position, whatever. Otherwise, all these posts about potential managers which we have every six months are just dreams.

Cant wait for the summer when the cycle will start again (presuming they can get someone in now)

Nothing against the guy just don't think the director of football role works in England. The only people who can work with this setup are foreign managers and have no prior knowledge of how English football works (De Canio). All the other English based managers have failed working in this setup.
