  • Proven respected manager, or keep gianni?

Ian holloway says hardly anyone will touch our club with the current set up.
As I posted the other day, I have nothing against gianni, just his position at the club.

So, if we interviewed a host of higher caliber managers( ie curbs, coppell, Mancini, gullitt or whoever you fancy personally) and they said that they will be willing to take the job as long as they have full control and are responsible for all decisions football wise, do we get rid of the sporting director and give it a chance, or do we say "poke it, gianni stays no matter what"?

    Thoughts please

Not only Holloway ...a few others have said the same according to a poster on here the other day ...I'm telling you we will end up with a manager who's just as desperate as we are!

For us to forge ahead up the league and promotion we need a manager who has total control. The names being touted about would never work under the present regime. If it means that Giani has to relinquish his roll as Sporting Director, then so be it, he has to step down. That said I would like him to stay at our club, but have nothing to do with footballing matters.
Opinions are like A******s, everyone has one, but nobody wants to see the other guy's.

For all those who want GP to stay, are Tottenham Hotspur a better football club, without their Director of Football Damien Comolli.

Its a no brainier for me, thanks GP for all you have done, but its time to go.

it will never work with him at the club. He seems to think this is HIS club and he will do as he pleases with it. If anyone ever upsets him at the club chances are they wont be around too much longer (Sousa for example) . Its a shame because i do believe he genuinely cares about Qpr but he just cant see that he is hindering us more than helping.

Like turkey's voting for Xmas putting this sort of thread up.

The gravy train passengers would never sack the driver.
QBP 20th August 2009..."To be fair, I'm glad we are top of the table (for agents fees). Shows we are not a selling club anymore."

couldn't agree more, put aside all the lovers or haters of the man i think it's obvious to most that he is punching above his weight of course he has brought in some great players to the club but he has also brought in some absolute stinkers, early on in his career with us i was very sceptical, not no more think he has his pluses & minuses but if we are to move forward as a club it must be "grazie Gianni ma arrivederci" maybe make him club president or something

we need a top class manager who will get players in who he wants & manage

They wont join in because they cant argue that Tottenham is not a better club since the retired the Director of football position.
