Sousa, Briatore's choice, was given about 26 games, leaving us with virtually no chance of making the play offs, having produced some of the most boring, negative football I have seen from any team, ever.

So in my opinion PeterG, NO. And whilst on the subject, do you not think that you and those others that insist on criticising him at every opportunity, could actually give it a rest for a while until such time as there is a valid reason to do so. I'm all for debate and accept that criticism will be aimed at various people at certain times, but it appears to me that GP is the subject of some of the most vitriolic, slanderous and pointless abuse, without any well thought out arguments or valid facts to back it up with.

So much for fairness and unity.

Well I think the valid reason is that we have just sacked another manager. If you check back you will see no vitriol or slanerous accusations from me.

in fact in the last discussion on this point that i contributed to (didnt start) I was of the opinion that I didn;t have enough information to answer the question positively or negatively.

            But PeterG,

He neither appointed him or sacked him did he, so is no more at fault than you or me.

"He neither appointed him or sacked him did he, so is no more at fault than you or me"

So what does he do then for all his wages as chairman/Sporting director. Does not Flavio make decisions based on GP's advice?

                Agree.

Paladini may not be the most popular man at Rangers, but i think the whole Sousa appointment and sacking is a Briatorie thing.

I thought Sousa knew Briatorie before his appointment?.

Got to love the way Pete says that this team with any other manager would have been top six as if its fact.

                        Prove it!

I went to all those games and saw a squad that wasn't good enough over the course of a season

                          PeterG,

Perhaps he was responsible for bringing in players like Vine, Buszacky, Gorkss, Routledge, Agyemang, Connolly, Cerny & Ephraim.

Perhaps he had no say as to wether Parejo, Ledesma or Di Carmine came to us.

I do not know exactly what he does for what he gets paid, but I would hazard a guess that if the people who were paying him thought he was making more than his fair share of mistakes, then he would not be around today.

                          Just my opinion though.

I would not say it's a squad problem as such.Just needs a few tweeks.

Learning to take a decent corner would be nice, and a couple of half-decent strikers would have made a massive difference.

We are defensively solid and will have a great midfield when we have our injured players back.

A good list there, of course there are all the others to add but I agree there have been some gems.

but sporting director should be more than just bringing in a few players shouldnt it, thats the bit that puzzles me, where does his responsibility start and stop.

                                to be fair I suspect

Flavio makes all the major decisions, he owns the club
